This mornings racing was slightly different to the norm to say the least, but it was good to see everyone "springing" into action (that's just for you Sue)and having a bit of fun and I'm sure the dogs didn't notice much of a difference and enjoyed their runs all the same, even if we didn't use 'traps'

Due to a technical hitch the traps couldn't be used and thats not because we had no one willing to pull them, no names need to be mentioned but one person was missing and so were 5 important items for the traps

After a number of phone calls and I'm pleased to say us whippeters it seems are not good at lock picking decided to make races up with dogs of similar weights and slip them from their marks. All that can be said is some peoples slipping techniques could do with polishing up and some of us were very 'good' slippers!!!!! :teehee:

Results as follows :

R Judd Winner ( good slip from Paul here)

Twisted Tip

Dead Red

Tilly

Vivs Starlight (Ruth you would have got the sack  )

Pipastrelle Winner

Skinnybutfast

Xbecks

Vivs Moonlight Winner (Ruth second time much better)

XFactor

Yaxi

Cassie Winner (I can slip too !!!)

Winner of each race took £6.00, some of the finishes were very tight, think there is definitely room for improvement from some of the slippers though. I think everyone enjoyed the morning and of course some of us then retired to the club, for drinks

See you next week - racing as 'normal' from traps

A lovely mornings racing (with fully operational traps with springs). If I say today was a circus I wouldn't be telling lies as the circus was on the field, racing carried on as normal once we had dragged Chris away from the animal tent, he spent the rest of the morning trying to conjure up a way of taking a Zebra and a Camel home, glad to say his van or my car weren't big enough. :sweating:

Thanks to all who attended and the helpers, an enjoyable morning was had, followed by a drink and a very interesting meeting in the club with some fantastic news for the Whippet Racing Club. Woohoo exciting !!!! OK i'll just get a cuppa then 'll spill the beans (w00t)

Mmmmmm hope these aren't nicknames for any fellow racers there today (w00t)

I'm so relieved it wouldn't to be honest, don't mind walking and emptying out your whippets when you have a van full, but can you imagine the pooh bag for that lol
