 Forgot to mention I also heard that Cherubz Toss the Teddy and his breeder Glenda Goller had a good day yesterday at Hervey Bay. I can't quite remember all the details so if I'm wrong please feel free to correct me.

I think he got CC, BOB & Aust/bred of Group (but it could have been R/U in the Group), I don't know who the judge was but this was Teddy's first show since returning to Queensland from South Oz.

Good one Teddy. I think I even showed him once while he was here. :)

I had my sirst show since Melb. Got BOB & Runner up to Best in Group. Another got Res CC & Ru. to BOB. & my little puppy was Minor in group. A good day out. :b

Pepper now has only 22 pts to go befor Grand Champion. She is out of the ring & into semi retirement. She is only just 5, but a litter from her is over due. :teehee:

Well done Cartman - seems like lots of whippeteers had a great weekend.

Let me share the Aslan puppies' news ....

Yesterday at Sarina KC - Aslan That's Amore (Dino) was CC BOB RESERVE IN GROUP and Puppy in Group (13 point BOB). Aslan Chanson D'Amour (Aime) was CC and RUBOB. Mum Layla, Ch Aslan Sensationalism was RCC. Judge was Mr Winch

Today at Sarina KC - Aime was CC BOB and BEST IN GROUP!!!! (Handled by my mum) Dino was CC RUBOB. Layla was RCC. Judge was whippet owner and breeder Mrs B Daines.

Today in Tasmania, Aslan Je T'aime, owned by Noelene Watson was RCC, RUBOB and Puppy in Group. BOB was Ch Whipridge Rivawood, owned and bred by Noelene. It was a 16 point BOB - so there were 11 whippets entered, five of which were in Tinker's puppy class. And she created a bit of interest as a number of people came to ask Noelene, "Where did she come from?" and comment on how nice they thought she was.

How happy am I?

Well done Lana and to you too Cartman.

I didn't show this weekend but my 'Banjo' took the Dog Challenge again.. Seems he is doing very well with Allen Anderson in Adelaide.

Didn't ask Allen till mid week, but last weekends BOB win with Banjo was under Glenda Goller (Cherubz), a breed specialist.

Have a good week.

 Well Done Cartman & Lana for your wins over the weekend, sounds like you had lots of fun!!

Congratulations to all the Aussies who had a good weekend showing. Special congrats to Jackson and his owner Jo on a lovely win- hope to see plenty more for this lovely boy.

How many points does he have now Colin? He will be a champ in no time. How long since we've had a black or black&white champ in this country?

Didn't show any whippets this weekend but did attend 2 shows. Last night CC & BOB went Ch Statuesque Scarpetta, Lisa also won Baby in Group but I don't know the pup's name I was stewarding in Group 5 and only had a catalogue for that group. Dog CC &R/UBOB was Ch Sherbaghan Silk Road. Judge Glenda Goller.

Today there were no whippets as it was the Queensland Gundog Association Double Header with an Open Show & a Championship Show. Had the opportunity to handle a very, very good 8 month old Vizsla who took BOB and went on to Reserve Exhibit in Show at the Open Show & Res CC & R/UBOB at the Champ Show. Judge for the Open show was Mrs C Donaldson. The pup SZEPZEG TEQUILA SUNRISE is grandson of my Cody (Ch Foxridge Dakota CD). It was a lot of fun to be back in the gundog ring for a day.

Congratulations Kerry on a good day in the gundog ring. We once won the ridgie pointscore here in Qld( 2 yrs actually i think)- the trophy is called the Foxridge Cup I think- same people??

Congrats to all the Aussie show winners this weekend.

Hi All,

Well done for the recent Aussie winners.

My black bitch 'Trinity' from my very 1st litter (Ibiza Royal Miss Trinity) got BOB and took Intermediate in Group on Saturday. She is with Karen Francis in Sydney and she has done wonders for the solid colour awareness over there.

Allen Anderson titled his black boy last year with final points attained under Lyn Watson (at Mt Gambier, I think). Ch Hydale Black Instyle 'Jessie' also won the Dog CC at the Adelaide Royal 2003, just before being exported to Denmark.. how could you forget Lana??

I'm not sure of Banjo's points so far, I'll have to ask Allen. This morning I sent him my brindle parti boy 'Tony' (Ibiza Callas Soprano), who is out of his prized 'Nikki' Ch Statuesque Tapestry, sired by 'Broom' Barmauds Mr Rumpole (imp UK). His solid brindle brother (Ibiza Callas Mezzo) flew out to Griff Parry in Tasmania at the same time. Quite an emotional day..

and Tamarra; thanks for your kind words. You have inspired me for quite some time and it's thanks to people like you that I persevere with this challenging pursuit. You have been unwavering in your commitment and dedication to the ambitious, yet sometimes misunderstood objectives of breeding decent coloured whippets and I am honoured by your acknowledgements. Spike is the KING with me too! Your new pups look adorable; all the very best for their future.

I have tried to include a pic of the entire "Callas" litter at 10 weeks but it doesn't like my .jpeg file (I'll try directly emailing you - Aslan & Morgan). I'm keeping the solid brindle girl 'Maria' which people have been quite taken by. We visited Noreen Harris last night for dinner (fab Bolognese) and she was quite impressed with her. Day by day she is proving to be the sweetest whippet. I miss my boys already.. :(

Yes Gajo you are right Foxridge was Ray & Lisa Smith (formerly of Queensland)who now reside down Coffs Harbour way and breed Arabian Horses.

But for a long time they had Ridgies & a Foxhound (hence Foxridge). They got rid of the Foxhound and got into Vizslas to go with their RR's. I bred their foundation Vizsla bitch and Cody was from their first litter of Vizslas.

OMG - how could I have forgotten? (w00t)

How long before Jesse then???????

Hi Aslan

Can't believe it.. you knew of these dogs years before we met..

How can you also forget 'Harley' in Tasmania, who you were going to use at stud around the time I first met you. He is black & white and has similar marking to my 'Banjo', having a perfect "clown" face.

Before 'Jesse' got his title in 2003, 'Harley' - Ch Gayregal Check Mate (owned by Allen Anderson) attained his title in 1998. Does this ring a bell Lana?? :b

The only other titled blacks here were also males, both owned and bred by Mr Bill Godfrey. Ch Spaceline Sammy Davis titled in the early '70s as did his Ch Spaceline Mac The Knife.

Oh; did I tell you I plan to publish a book on all the Australian Champions?

The boys are very pleased with their pups. Both have settled well and love their new dads. Griff's white bitch 'Ellie' delivered 7 pups last night. He's very pleased and all are doing well.

I have loved the recent posts at the new "Colours" topic. You still want my black & white gal, Effie?

Speaking of other topics, what was that last round on the (other) topic like?? Malin was not pleased with you..

Take care,

Colin

The following was posted to some lists in Oz by a very proud breeder - the very very proud owner (me) is still over the moon about the win. Just to fill you in the Australasian Challenge Cup Show is a Charity Show run to raise funds for Children's Cancer Welfare Services. No points are on offer but it's run in the evenings as a black tie affair with dinner and an auction accompanying the show. Some years ago BIS won a car - not so now (damn) but still a pretty impressive prize (frozen semen package - some comments have been passed about sending Michael (other half) up for "collection  )

We're very pleased to announce BIS at the Australasian Challenge Cup on

Saturday was the Wicked Whippet, Electra (SBIS & BIS Ch Ridgesetter Fly The

Flag ET) owned by Lisa Barrenger from Bungendore.

Also, we can now announce that following discussions, Lisa has accepted an

offer too good to refuse and Electra will leave Australia at the end of

this month to be campaigned in the USA for a while. Although somewhat sad

that she is going, we are at the same time thrilled that she is so admired.

Lastly, big thanks to Lisa for loving Electra and always acknowledging and

including us in Electra's achievements.

Very proud breeders

John & Toni Comerford

Ridgesetter Whippets & RR's

As for the other information contained in this post Electra is going to spend some time with Phoebe Booth (Shamasan Whippets) on the East Coast, USA. We hope to gain her title, maybe fit in some lure coursing if Phoebe's time permits - although whether Electra will chase a plastic bag having been used to kangaroos & wallabies remains to be seen. And she will hopefully produce a beautiful litter for Phoebe as she has for us. It was a difficult decision to make but given she'll be out of town for snake season we think it will be a good one. And she will return sometime in 2005 to pick up here where she left off.

Not wrong. Already started here. Very dry, & they are on the move. I was at a house last week where one got the ladies cat. :( I was sitting on the tank stand when the catcter came. Took 20mins. But got it from under the tank stand. It was a 3 foot brown. :( I then had a 8 inch brown in my undies. :nuke:
