Oh they must have been Millys litter brother and sister, they live in Devon and are called Kalima and Levante? As you can see from this pic they were very similar colouring as babies.
I love all dogs ,all shapes and sizes . Not just running dogs as i call em ? All dogs can run lolI have seen saluki cross collie types that look like thisbut also more athletic..They are quite pretty but they don't look terribly functional to me another American show breed by the looks.
yes so do I, my point is these look to be more about show than go which is to my eyes a shame as you can have both if the selection process and foundation stock is different. I am only going on photos though and a not particularly high opinion of the working qualities of the modern borzoi.I love all dogs ,all shapes and sizes . Not just running dogs as i call em ? Given that they can be afflicted with Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), I'd say you're right.not met one personally but the piks ive seen look like a collie x whippet :b
Ooops - should clarify. I read that Shetland Sheepdog had been used in the mix somewhere. If the Silken Windhound can suffer from CEA, there's more than Borzoi and Whippet in the mix.Given that they can be afflicted with Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), I'd say you're right.not met one personally but the piks ive seen look like a collie x whippet :b

Are you perhaps thinking of the MDR1 gene? Silkens can carry this gene, which is found in many herding breeds leading us to believe that the original windsprite dogs used in the founding generations had some sheltie way back in their make up. The defect MDR1 gene is of course no where near as serious as something like CEA. Both my collies and my silken are MDR1 carriers, it simply means I never use any ivermectin based drugs as these dogs are more sensitive to the ivermectin family than dogs that don't have this gene
Your wish is my commandHope to see some more pictures of her!! She looks like a great size aswell.
