A 12 year old spaniel has been found hung by a washing line in what turned out to be a terrifying and shocking ordeal.

The animal has clearly been the victim of home surgery as it's leg was found to be sewn up with cord from a home sewing kit.

The defenceless creature appears to have had it's eye torn out and the hole crudely butchered together.

To top if off the dog was then hung out on a washing line before it was abandoned to it's fate.

Warning these pictures may be shocking ... :- " ...

 i thought for one awful minute someone had been terribly cruel

oh my god i nearly didnt look at the pics cause i was about to cry,

thats a cruel joke you just played, all be it a tiny bit funny :- "

I just couldn't help it

After I'd sewn up his eye and leg, bleached, washed and fabric conditioned him ready for him to be played with when the pups arrived I just thought what a terrible lot this dog has been through.

Nursing Kerri (nearly 7yrs) when she was ill as a youngster, bringing Blaze through her eye operations, being ragged by two litters of puppies, having his eye chewed out and finally being torn apart in a vicious tug-o-war game. He's laid in a forlorn state on the back of the sofa for three months now wearing an old jumper to protect his wounds.

(w00t) ooo you little bugger i didnt look at this earlyer cause i thought it would be bad :- "

Same here, Nicky

Saw it on the home page and decided I wouldn't look and then saw you'd posted a reply so I was brave ............ and it was OK after all :sweating:

Cute little spaniel :- " :D

I cant believe you took pictures and didn't get the poor

thing down

oh for gods sake (w00t)

i have been avoiding looking at this for ages, didnt want to see or read anything horrible :- "

He will be rescued within the hour, or when the sun goes out the back garden, whichever is sooner :- "

P.S After all this abuse I just want to know how he keeps on smiling

Hee hee, I love washing my dogs toys because when I get them out on the line Lenny goes nuts for a while, trying to get them down! First he tries jumping up, then he tries sitting whilst staring at the toy (with limp paw held up for extra cuteness), then he tries a final jump before he gives up and goes back inside :D

With so many appalling cruelty cases going on at the moment, particularly "Justice for Mac", this made me feel sick when I read it.

Perhaps it may appeal to some, not me I'm afraid. Sorry.

Blaze was a bit miffed for a while, she couldn't work out why I was cross when she tried to pull his legs off whilst I was taking him up to the washing line :D

I have never seen a dog trying to get his teddies off the washing line, you must try and get some pictures  . I can just imagine the "poorly paw" routine ;) .

I'll try and get some pics but I know for a FACT that the second I get the camera out he won't perform! Like the time when I told someone on a forum how he likes to get inside the duvet cover on his duvet - and then gets hideously trapped when he tries to get out in the morning  he's never done it since I tried to get photo evidence!
