Chris Durance-Watkins of Cherche Whippets in the States made these beautiful pieces of my girls (Go to the page and then scroll down to New Featured Pieces)

I asked her sometime last year if she would think about making me some. She does custom pieces, and also has others available (which you can see on her website). She said she had a waiting list but would be back in touch when she had more time.

She started these at the beginning of January when she heard I would be in the States at the end of January she made sure they were ready in time to be mailed to a friend in Florida (where we just were) so we could bring them back and save on international postage.

These are just amazing, esp the one of Chelsea which just totally caputres her.

I can totally recommend Chris's work - I had already seen some of it (via photos) and then at the National I saw a GORGEOUS piece at Barbara Henderson's that she had done. The photos don't do them justice!

Anyway, just had to share. They'll be going up in my kitchen window next week after the new window is installed.

To be honest while they were expensive, they weren't as bad as I was afraid they'd be - partially due to the fact that at the moment the £ is really strong against the $

But she charges a set price per 'cut' she has to make and it varies slightly depending on the cost of the glass she uses. Also there was a fee for 'custom' pieces as she had to create the designs from the photographs. If you order anything she already has created designs for (for example the whippets on display lower down - but in different colour) then it's not so bad as she doesn't have to create that. So if there's a whippet pattern (or whippet head) that you like and would like to have in your whippet's colours, the price you see on the sample is the price you'd pay for the custom colours.

She really is the nicest person. I met her at the Whippet National in the States last year, and she really was SO great during the whole design process.
