well last night i gave them for the first time lamb ribs, just a little bit of a rib each not a full one, and at 3.30am star was whaling to get up so up i get, ruby couldnt be bothered and jump into our bed :- " but star was howling at the door. sleepy me out the back garden at 3.30am and she does what can only be described as a cow pat :x couldnt even pic it up in the poop bag :x anyway she has been like that ever since and im wondering if it could be the lamb?? i really hope its not as i have a freezer full of the stuff from a very nice butcher.

any ideas would be great.

(ruby seems apsaloutly fine, so what ever it is is just bothering star) :(

i remeber when i gave my whole litter of pups breast of lamb :x

never again lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they started throwing up and had awful poop :x i phoned the vets panicking , he asked me if they had any different food , when i told him id treated them to breast of lamb he just laughed  said it was much to rich and fatty for young pups :- "

i have to say this was just the meat off the breast , no bones , and i had cooked it for them . it was very greasy :- " mine were still boucing like loonies just has 24 hours of cleaning up to do :x :x :x

edited to say it was just the 3 boys , Bliss has an iron stomach and is too greedy to waste good food by throwing it back up :D

good luck (w00t) (w00t) :luck:

Maybe just cos its the first time she had it?

And her insides not used to it or something.

Sorry can't think fo anything else!

Hope she gets better soon...

:huggles:

i didnt give them any bones ither it was just a bit of the meat, i had read on a few places the lamb ribs were great for pups

maybe not so great for star :(

Poor Star, hope she's feeling better now.

When I first put mine on the James Welbeloved lamb and rice kibble puppy food they were doing 'cow pats' for a couple of days so I 'diluted' it will half Pedigree Chum small bite mixer and it seems to have done the trick.

Dinah has had colitis for years and lamb is the only meat she can eat so they are all different.

Is Star's tummy better now? If not, you might have to starve her for 12 hours then feel plain cooked chicken with some plain boiled rice - just a little at a time until everything 'firms up' again!

Hope she's better soon.

well shes been pooing nearly every hour or so this morning but has now been sleeping for the past 2 hours so im hoping she got it all out of her and is now sleeping it off finger crossed. no lamb for star anytime soon :x i noticed when i gave them chicken its firmer so iv got some chicken for their dinner so hopfully she should be all better by tomorrow :sweating:

aww poor star hope shes feeling better soon sending her lots of gentle :huggles: :huggles:

Oh dear poor Star, im sure she will be fine, lamb is very fatty, i feed mine breast of lamb, raw, including bone as that is binding but i remove the fatty end first.

Dont give up on the bones as its great for dogs but only once a week. :x Jan

i wont be giving up, they love chicken wings, just thought id try somthing a bit different, shes been abit sad all morning but i have just had them outside and they both went mental and came in black, so have just given them a wee hose down and a dry, but they are now more crazy than before taring through the house (w00t) must be somthing in the water

When mine were so young anything new would upset them at first. I'd just wait a couple of weeks and try again. Their tummies get stronger as they get older. I think this has probably happened to everyone on here who's ever had puppies so I wouldn't worry too much so long as she is fine in herself, and it sounds as though she is. :huggles:

Hope Star is soon feeling better.

Lots of gentle :huggles: :huggles: coming her way. :huggles:

I expect you could introduce them both to lamb, but really slowly. Smidge has been like that with anything new (and wind as well :x ), but when introduced in very small amounts, he is fine. Beautiful puppies, you must be so pleased with them

Hope Star is feeling better today Katie. Sorry to hear she hasnt been very well.. :( It may not even have been the lamb...she could have nibbled something in the garden...you never know.

I feed lamb bones but maybe they were just a little too rich for them at such a young age, if shed never had them before.

Hope she is feeling better soon. :huggles:

When pups been off, a small bowl of warm milk with a tablespoon of arrowroot powder mixed in, sometimes does the trick. If pup can face anything he will have a go at this mix. It seems to settle things down - if there is no serious underlying medical problem.

shes completely fine now the day after she was better, i think it was the lamb, but im not going to be put of, ill leave it another week and try her with a small bit again.

thanks guys :huggles:

Definately the lamb. (w00t) Mine only have to look at lamb and they get the squits. Introduce it very slowly using tiny bits at a time. Glad she's better now. :)
