Striker

JD is still here - right at the moment cuddled up with Striker in bed - I just couldn't tempt hubby away from the cricket on the tele long enough to do both of them. As it was photos were taken in an ad break. (w00t) Hopefully we can do JD next week when OH is home.

 i'm so excited, i can't wait to give striker heaps of kisses and cudles!!!

 Empty bag ..... Where's that darn cat?

when he's safely there I'll tell you.

No, he did fly, but not over water. He has gone to Victoria, in partnership, with Vanessa (BlackMoon Magic) who, I'm sure, when she has settled him in, will pop on here and introduce herself properly. He has other whippets to befriend (show and racing) and some racing greyhounds on a fantastic property with lovely people, so I am sure he will be very happy.

I thought I was going to be brave saying goodbye but I cried (it never gets any easier) and because I didn't see the little cart actually take him away from the freight shed, I panicked all day because I couldn't be sure that he got on the plane. But he arrived safely and said brief (but courteous) hellos to his new whippy friends last night. (It was quite late when they got home).

He will be shown there, but whilst Vanessa is not new to whippets, she is new to the showing caper but very keen.

Angus and Elmaro, you guys are the rellies, so I am hoping you will take Vanessa under your wing if you see her at a show and give her any guidance she may need. I would be very grateful for your support of Vanessa and Striker. As a newbie with a black and white... friendly faces and supportive people are what Vanessa needs. She is well aware of the challenge she takes on with her choice of colour but there probably will be times when she'll need a boost of confidence or someone to lean on (or whinge to as the case may be! )

JD is very lonely without his brother - they have been inseparable since birth. I am worried about how my little black baby is going to cope. Hopefully when Jillie is finished with her babies she will be JD's kennel, bed and play mate.

Always happy to help a newbie! We were all there once! I actually haven't shown Connie at all this year... she in the process of becoming a yummy mummy, but keeping her away from puppy food is a full time job!

Anyway next time we're out, I'll be the one with the parents in tow (Mum says she's going to show and she hasn't been in the ring for nigh on 20 years!! (w00t) ), with a bunch of typical psychotic peperone babies!! :D Can't wait!!

Forgot to add ... where's my picture of JD??

You need to speak to my husband.  If he was home in the daylight for longer than 5 minutes during his time off - I was lucky!  He's just got home now - as the sun is setting and wants to use the phone - on which he will be for the next 30-45mins, talking to his workmate, whom he will see in the morning and spend an hour and a half with in the car driving to work.  Beats me what they talk about.    Which means I have to get off the net.  Will come back later.  Will try very hard to get a pic of JD for you this weekend at the show - perhaps some kind soul there will help me out.

:)) Hello Everyone! THANK YOU SO MUCH LANA! I'll always love him! As now you all know that Lana has blessed me with Striker, I was so happy and relieved to get him from the plane! I, like Lana was very worried about how he would take his trip. He was a bit nervous when we first got him but he has settled in quite well now :)) I am only new to the show ring so i am taking handling lessons (so hopefully i don't make a fool of myself! :teehee: ) to learn things the correct way. Striker came with today as it was a private lesson...he did great! he even free stacked for me Lana (w00t) I was so proud! Striker has met all his show friends, I have a solid black girl, a lovely clown face girl, a little black & white clown face boy and Striker. You would be so proud Lana...Striker was quite the gentleman! He is great with the 2 pups, If you hadn't told me i would have thought he's been raised up with little ones! He was very excited to meet georgia (we all got a giggle :D ) He wasn't so sure what to do about seeing a girl but was so very cute trying to play with her. She explained the proper way not to play then they had a great time running all over the yard!

Just by chance, is anyone on here going to the Cohuna show this weekend?

I am only half an hour from Cohuna, so this will be my 1st show with my little Calahorra girl. The lady's name is Kay, sorry i don't know her last name, she shows golden retrievers. She is from Kerang.
