Not see any Swallows, but there's Amazons in the garden - oh no, it was me in my loincloth (w00t)

We've had em for two weeks now - en mass!!!

heres minty watching them.....he is fascinated by them dashing past the windows at high speed.

They arrived in Cornwall over two weeks ago along with the house martins, haven't heard a cuckoo yet. :)

Saw my first swallows here Kieth yesterday...magic...

I just love them...

I saw a couple 2 weeks ago, but wasn't convinced they were swallows as I get a bit mixed up with swifts/house martins, :b but then I was talking to a bird watcher some time later and he said he'd seen some too, so I must have been right!! :- " :D

Years ago, when I used to visit my husband's parents house in South Devon, I remember they had a number of swallows that used to nest in an old barn in their garden - it was always a lovely sight seeing them swooping around. :D How nice that you are able to watch them growing up Keith. :huggles:

returned to our stables last week we have 6 stables and a nest in each :)

last year they hatched two cluches of 5 babys in each nest

have to watch out when the young start to fly if your walking past the stable

door could get a swallow in your ear

love to watch them colecting up horse hair and diving about for bugs :)

Ours came back last weekend. We dont have many nesting during the summer but we must be some sort of meeting point because just before they fly off again at the end of the summer the wires accross our yard are covered in so many you couldn't possibly count them all :D

I had my first Swallows up here in Alnwick, Northumberland last Thursday *24th*

Had my first House Martin yesterday, Tuesday 29th, in the town centre.

Haven't had any Swifts yet tho a few of my birder friends have seen the odd one these past few days.
