Not a bad entry overall considering it was an Open Show!!!

In Sweden we call in all bitches that was awarded UK (excellent quality) and place 5 among those and in the end Mary Lowe's line up among all bicthes entered and placed were:

1. Jee Bee's A New Gold Dream

2. Pipsqueak Little Charmer

3. Play A While Late Red Autumnhop Ale

4. Whipcat Quick Silver

5. Per-Mobile Xantippa

It might sound strange to you in the UK but the Whippet Club Show, not even handing out CC:s, is the most important show of the year for the whippet crowd in Sweden!!!!!!!! Winning this show is the top award for any breeder in Sweden!!

Just resurfacing after a rather tiring drive home -_- I thought it was the best show I had ever been to. The quality of the whippets was fantastically high - much better than you see at English shows and it was lovely to be able to sit at the ring side and concentrate on one sex each day without going cross-eyed trying to watch two rings. I found it really inspiring to see so many beautiful whippets and long to see some of them again. Frosty and Favour got "excellents" at the shows they went to but I felt they were really outclassed.

of course Cathy. but Ive put them on a porn sight and also had a print to go over the fireplace ....................., to keep the children away

Wow these ladies really had a ball. I know as I was fortunate enough to spend the evening 'celebrating' and enjoying the view from the verandah.

Kragga was the best. A fabulous venue and the Swedish Club are to be congratulated on their organisation of the Congress & National Show.

The Sighthound show of approx. 800 entries was a sight to behold and definitely worth the 28 hour flight from Oz.

The World Show - Nothing short of spectacular. Noreen (Bonnymead) and I were totalling blown away by all of the dogs, their quality and the sportsmanship of the exhibitors. Again the organisation of the event by the Swedish Kennel Club was superb and the finals - sensational.

We had a fantastic trip!

I would second and third that! I always knew I liked the continental Whippets but, having seen them in the flesh, IMO the Scandinavian ones in particular are just to die for. If the winters weren't so cold I would consider moving over there!!!

I've had 2 wonderful weeks in Sweden! Had a great time with the Vanna and her Mum. Jings was so pleased to see her breeder and have all the attention (even though a certain dachshund with many names tried to steel some of her people). Her highness has now decided that I'm not trying to poison her and started to eat her dinner from the moment we got home. :p

It was nice to meet many K9'ers and so many whippets!

My pictures are still in my camera, but will try to put some here when I get them uploaded to my computer.

I am enjoying this thread, although wishing I could have been there to attend the Congress and experience the shows.

Is there a report on The Congress anywhere?

Where will the next congress be held?

Hi there!

We had a great time in Sweden !

It was lovely to meet some "old" friends as well as some new ones  !

The shows were just amazing. We saw so many beautiful whippets. It must have been the highest level of competition I have ever seen  .

We travelled with just 1 whippet. We were especially thrilled with our black and white girl "Lola" (Taraly Black Is Beautiful) being placed 4th with CK in a huge open class of 50 at the sighthound show under Linda Jones. Lola was also placed UK (Whippet club version of CK) at the Specialty and short listed in an even huger open class under Mary Lowe.

Can't wait for the next congress now :p

Best regards from France :huggles:

Yes, I hope it is Germany also or, if not, on the East of the USA as I have two sisters who reside that side!!!

For any K9ers in England who are interested in the Congress and would like to read the contents of the folder I can take it to the shows. I will be at Hound Show, City of Birmingham, Richmond.

I am still drooling over all those gorgeous dogs!!

Here's one for you to be going on with - a certain Ringmore Chapter and Verse (whose owner kindly let me handle her!) winning the Working Class, with a UK grading, under Mary Lowe.

Edited because the *&^$ picture wouldn't appear!

Thanks to everyone who posted pictures (and links to pictures)! I love looking at the photos. The depth of quality at the shows is just astonishing. I see quite a few dogs I'd like to pack up and ship back to the US. Just gorgeous.

Paitence Renzulli from America that attented the congress and all other activities during these weeks has written a lot about this in her blog: http://patience-please.blogspot.com/

I think you will find a good report about what was talked about at the congress!
