Remember the chicks I brought home from the farm....

this is them now in my dads garden....havnt they grown...and started laying their first eggs last week. :thumbsup: :huggles:

and can you see the two little white ones in the coup.....another two newcomers... :lol:

I think lots of people refer to them as chickens Helen...

I just tell the kids at the farm the proper term is Hen...because a chicken is ready for the oven (without feathers).

and a chick is a baby one... and a daddy is a Cockerell

Suppose its a bit like Cow produces Beef

but we dont say Cow and gravy or cow and yorkshire pudding

so its Hen produces chicken.....

Pigs produce Pork....not pig and stuffing... :lol: :lol:

are'nt they lovely...i would recommend chickens.. hens to anyone as i have two just like the ones you have and they lay an egg each everyday..ones having a egg break which i found its normal for hen to have a break from laying

the kids wanted to have chicks but neither had gone broody so im on the look for two baby chicks or bantums

Now all weekend I been saying I am gonna keep myself some chickens when we move into our new house as we have some woodland and they'd be happy up there... but now I know it ain't chickens I need... as they'd be cold running about with no feathers on... I need to get myself some HENS :thumbsup:
