We fancied a change from our reservoirs so hopped in the car for a short drive to today's walk. It's raining out now so it was a good decision to go this morning!

Up the cobbled path (you're going the wrong way Jonah! )

No Wonder your boys always look in the peak of condition!

Beautiful scenery - the heather is looking lovely :D

Winter weather with summer greenery - weird isn't it :ermm:

beautiful scenery there, how long was your walk???

weve just been round the reservior this morning and took a little longer with having to shelter from the downpours, strange seeing them so full to at this time of year.

The heather does look really colourful on your pictures...you seem to be ahead of us at the moment...ours is not quite as ripe...

Lovely scenery and the the same lovely dry stone walls as round here too...love them.

As jinnyfiz says about the weather, isnt it strange..its dry here today but very overcast and quite cool.

I recognised that walk from the very first photo :) I've got loads of photos of the reservoir there, it's so scenic. :teehee: Did you pass the white shooting cabins?

I see you came back down via Twenty Trees. Did you count them? :p

Wow what a beautiful place

Ruby and I met up with some friends and went to Limber Woods in Lincolnshire.

We had a lovely walk and then lunch on the way home. Although the woods were lovely I do reaaly prefer to be in open country, or on the beach. One of my friends however said she hates taking the dog to the beach as it is so boring. We are all different aren't we? Love the countryside in Derbyshire though but don't get there often enough.

It was only an hour 45 minutes and took us a bit longer than it needed because we had to keep stopping to check the way as it's the first time we've been up there. Nice walk though.

That's the first time I've noticed the heather today so maybe we're not that far ahead of you as you think. :)

I thought you might recognise it Nicola. Did you mean these huts? I didn't post the picture at first because it was rubbish but I've had a fiddle around and thought it looked quite dramatic now. But you can tell it was taken on my little camera - it's very grainy. :b

I didn't know anything about the 20 trees until we saw the info board in the car park after we'd got back! Richard said he saw them but I hadn't even noticed, but I can see them on my photos now. ;) It's a nice walk - must do it again sometime.

Some lovely photos there Gillian  We were thinking of going a bit further north later in the week but after seeing the weather forecast I don't think we'll bother!

I think we are going to do the Five Dales walk tomorrow Nicola so I'll post some pictures if they're not too wet and grey! :- " We went to Chatsworth House today and then on to Eyam. The dogs were not impressed when the heavens opened as we were walking back to the car  we were so close to the car park that I didn't think it would be worth getting their coats out of my bag but they were quite wet by the time we got back :b

Great photos, what beautiful scenery and I love the heather

Yes...those are the shooting cabins (and it's the Glorious 12th today (w00t) ).

Re the trees - they don't really stand out when you're nearby, more from a distance as a bit of a landmark. I don't know if there is a story beind them but there are only 19 trees :) . I think I've got a photo somewhere.
