Its times like this I wish I had a huge house, lots of land and no job    Just know id be over-run with whippys and greys.
Lots of thoughts and luck to misty and foggy  o:)   Im sure you'll find somewhere soon.

Let us know how it goes? x

sorry to slightly change the subject - but did anyone see 'After they were Famous' last night .... the old Robin who played in the Batman series is now married to a millionaire and runs a Great Dane Sanctuary.... and has rehomed well over 3000 Great Danes - there must have been at least 50 of them in the house. (w00t) But hey well done them.

:luck: Good luck with finding a home for Misty and Foggy. It is so sad to se 2 elderly ladies in such need. I'm sure that whippet rescue will help all they can.

Look forward to the post telling us all the good news.

yes we watched it.it was wonderful! i do so hope these two old ladies get a nice home for their twilight years :)

Just to bump this thread up.

These 2 lovely ladies are still waiting for a loving home, hopefully before christmas

Kathryn is having to turn away lurchers as she has these 2 and the RSPCA might have to put them in kennels :( Imagine that for an elderly whippet :( :( :(

Either ring Kathryn or PM me if you are interested

I have offered to look after them for a short while if she gets desperate but i'd much rather see them in a nice permanent home.

Hello there......I run North Lakes Lurcher & Longdog Rescue , up in the Lake District .I am looking for a home for two whippet bitches aged 14 yrs. and 11 yrs. respectively. They are in good health and are still pretty fit . Unfortunately, their owners have died (within 16 weeks of each other) and they are looking for a new home together.

Misty (14) is fawn with a white blaze and Foggy (11) is fawn. They are pretty girls and very affectionate. Misty relies heavily on Foggy, who is the  more outgoing of the two. They share the same bed and even when they are running, they touch sides.

They are very clean in the house and don't mind being left for a couple of hours......they just curl up and go to sleep.

I would love to find a quiet home for them where they can really enjoy their twighlight years , with lots of tlc and a lovely warm fire.

Do get in touch if you'd like to find out more about Misty and Foggy.

                Thank you,

                          Kathryn McAllister (01900 85337)

Just bumping this up again

They are in a foster home at present and being cared for, but need some TLC and veterinary attention before anything else happens, they have got very thin and Misty's teeth are in a poor state.

Good Luck :luck: :luck: :luck: :huggles:

I am fostering Misty +Fog. collected them 19th Dec. They were in a very poor state much much too thin esp. Misty, and VERY stressed. My vet examined Misty on 21st Dec.. She was painfully thin, has a very sore mouth + a heart murrmer. Both have settled with my 5 quite well. Getting them to eat has been hard but we are getting there. Both have improved already and are relaxed enough to greet visitor to the house. Liz Third visited today and they were pleased to see her (although they had never met her before). The girls will be staying with us until the "ideal" turns up.

Bless them  & Bless you

it is so sad they lost their owner :( i wish them all the luck in the world :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

I'm so pleased that they are settling in for you Jean, I had just heard about them and contacted Sandra in Southport to offer a resting place - when she rang back it was to tell me that they were on there way up to you!! How can anyone let 2 mature ladies get into that state? People never fail to turn my stomach with their neglect of such loving, gentle dogs. The good thing about you taking them is that it left me free to take on Mia, a whippet X for my local rescue - everything happens for a reason!! Please keep us up to date with them.
