Hello everyone!
Thought that you would all like an update about my little boy Jesse.
Well, as you know, he came home on Wednesday 26th. The operation was a fantastic success and although it was unbelievably lovely to have him home with us, it was also so devistatingly upsetting to see him like that
His whole stifle/thigh area was completely black with bruising, including his personal parts the poor baby He was up and about, trying to get his balance, very quickly though and (although it sounds strange) much more comfortable than before the operation, because the Osteosarcoma was so painful.
It's now been exactly a week since Jesse came home, and I'm so thrilled to tell you he is doing really well
To begin with he was a quite lazy and sleepy (even more so than normal) and had a little difficulty balancing without the weight of his back leg. But now he is much more stable, and even uses his back leg as a bit of a pivot when turning around. He's been back to the vets a few times to have the dressing changed, but it finally seems to have stopped bleeding now, so that should be off really soon
The bruising has DRAMATICALLY gone down, as you can see below. The only thing now is for him to learn that he can't cock his leg to have a wee!!
So fantastic to have my baby boy home and to see him without pain once again. I love him to pieces   Let's just hope that the cancer doesn't come back anytime soon, and the lump in his nose doesn't progress into something nastier.
The day he came home:
Today (one week later):
"Oh please mum! I don't want all my whippety friends to see me like this!!"
As you can see it is looking so much better in just a week!
I'd like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the lovely comments and best wishes you gave us. Your support meant so much to us, and it was lovely to be in an environment where everyone can sympathise - because we all love our whippets so much.
Take care,
Emma and Jesse xXx
