Aw poor tia nicky i hope they can find out whats wrong quickly :huggles: :huggles:

This has brought tears to my eyes, you can see she in pain and very unhappy :( If anyone can help Nicky, please say something.

She might not be my dog,but i bred her,i wish Nicky and Tia was,nt so far :(

At least you are doing your best Nicky :huggles: she being well cared for and loved and trying to find out whats wrong

This is probably no help but. A couple of years ago my greyhound couldnt get up when she was laid flat out on the floor, she also had a few mobility issues, so we took her to the vet and they couldn't find anything obviously wrong with her but thought the problem was in her neck, so they sent us away with some Metacam and told us to use a harness instead of a collar when walking her. It took a few days but eventually she was ok. This happened again and she had xrays and tests but nothing was found. The metacam kept it under control to a certain degree. In the end it didnt cause her any more trouble.

Sorry its a bit sketchy but this was a couple of years ago :b

Hope you get Tia sorted soonest :luck: :huggles:

oh no, look at her little face :(

im so sorry i cant offer any advice nicky :(

maybe you should start thinking about putting a bit of pressure on your vet........or even go and finding a new one

its not fair that she is in so much pain :huggles:

Oh Nicky I am so sorry for you and Tia, you feel so helpless don't you? At least Misty isn't in any obvious pain, that is so hard to cope with.

Be strong for her and dont be afraid to ask, ask, ask even if you thiink you are being a nuisance, I am sure my vet is fed up woth me!!

Sending you lots of :huggles: and I hope we both get some good news tomorrow

Hi

May not be much of a help, but my old girl acts excactly the same, they thought she had knocked her neck whilst playing with the others, after a few days on medication it disappears but then can and does return

Poor tia,

i cant offer any advice, only get back to the vet,

thinking of you,

cara,xx

I have something that may be of some help or reason for Tia's pain. I have just comfirmed what i thought with my dad.

My advice is to take Tia back to your vet asap

I have seen this about 20 yrs ago in one of my Grandads dogs Pennylane we originally thought she had slipped a disk or something simlar in her neck because she had trip racing and flipped herself over and became sore in her neck after that.

The vet agreed with this at first and she was on pain relief meds but nothing improved and she gradually got worse and worse my Grandad noticed her jaw had started to lock

With another trip to the vets it turned out that she infact had tetanus caused by a small splinter of glass in her foot. Because she hadn't shown any signs of soreness in her feet they hadn't been checked everyone just assumed it was her neck.

Sadly Penny had to be put to sleep as the infection was too far advanced to save her.

I hope that this not whats wrong with your Tia check her all over for any signs of cuts and scratches etc and go back to your vet .

I hate seeing dogs in so much pain and so unhappy i hope she is well soon.

Sending you all the luck in the world and hugs too.

omg you saying this she had a splinter in her foot the other week but it was a while bk now and i though i had removed it all , how long would it take for symptoms to show ?iv just called my vets as shes still in pain and theyve told me to give her more metcam and they will do the test tomoz wen i take her in and just to keep her comftable for tonight :(

nicky i wouldnt be happy with that, i would insist that they do something now.

So sorry you're going through this Nicky. Poor Tia...she does look unhappy. :( The metacam usually gives almost instantaneous relief to Fred when he has one his 'I can't move properly days'. He's never been in pain like that for longer than a day though. Whatever can it be?? Some ideas from the others...probably worth mentioning to your vet

Another dose of metacam will almost certainly ease her pain......

Wish i could be of help...............

Hi Nicky ave just had a look at the video along with my dad and to us it looks like her left side is swollen and the way she is walking suggested to us that it looks like she may have done something to her spine :( we are no experts but thats how it appeared to us on the vid. Has she maybe got a trapped nerve and the pain is traveling up her neck? i know that i suffer from a trapped nerve in my back but i get the pain in my right hip and down my leg.

If she hasnt already been x rayed i would be demanding one or least a second opinon by another vet.

It must be really hard for you seeing her in pain :( but keep thinking postive

I honestly don't no we didn't no she had a splinter that had become infected until my grandad took her back to the vets when she got worse.

Because the first symptom was the pain and stiffness in her neck and she had the fall everyone just assumed that was it as the pain semed to start after the fall.

Atleast the vet will test her for tetanus tomorrow i hope its not tetanus and she has just pulled herself.

I will have everything crossed for you and Tia :luck: :luck:

Heres a link with a bit of info about tetanus in dogs Tetanus in dogs

don't know if this is any help but my friends gsd cross rottie had a similar action and ended up having two operations, after he did this one day and his whole back end wouldn't move.

The conclusion after masses of test was that he had some sort of nerve damage between the vertibra(sp?) in his spine. Probably as a result of an awkward move whilst playing with her other dogs. As I say they operated twice on him at the age of 4yrs and he never walked properly again - had a side gait from the operations on. He sadly died at the age of 9yrs which whilst my friend was devastated without the ops he probably wouldn't have made it to the end of his fourth year.

Sorry but I'd be insisting on xrays, blood tests the works and don't delay as it could make whatever it is much worse.

so hope it isnt something serious - poor Tia -

A friend of mine's bitch was poorly, off her food and had a lot of pain in her neck, she yelp when she moved it - it was meningitis - I would get her back down the vets tonight because once this bitch was put on steroids within a very short time she was improving.

She is now fully recovered and full of energy

Oh Nicky how heartbreaking, no advice I'm sorry, but hoping and praying for a rapid solution for your pretty little girl :huggles: :huggles:

nicky is it possible to take her to the vets this evening so they can give her something better for her pain for over night until shes back in the morning, its the worst thing seeing your pet in pain :( ,something stronger will help rest her too.

sending you both a big :huggles: :huggles: and wishing tia a full recovery real soon
