Ive always wanted to see the Angel on my Birthday and have some photos taken, so what better day than today....my lovely husband Richard took me to visit the Angel of the North then we went out for our lunch...it was lovely thank you.xxxx :huggles:

Nicola sorry the dogs wernt there, but we went for lunch so had to leave them behind but I promise I will get a photo shoot of them and the Angel sometime too.

Oh wow...how huge is that wing span. (w00t) I'm glad you've got some people in the shot as they show how large it is!! I really must get to see this statue, it looks awe inspiring. I'm fast becoming an Anthony Gormley fan. Fabulous!! I can just about make you out in some of them

I like those Janis. :thumbsup: I've only seen the Angel of the North once, years ago, and that was from the main road heading north (whatever that is!) but I have to say I was totally unimpressed with it from that viewpoint. I think I was under the impression that it was on a hill in the middle of nowhere but from the road it seemed to be surrounded by traffic and buildings. I was really disappointed, but I must say, it does look better from closer up and is obviously huge when you're standing underneath it. So maybe we ought to pay a proper visit.

No I've never been that impressed with it either but I've only seen it from the road too. We drove past it on our way up to/back from Scotland at Easter, I was trying to take pictures but John kept telling me off saying I looked like a tourist (I think I was putting him off his driving though, it was really busy because there was a footie match I think!).

I asked him if we could stop off and have a look on the way back to look from the ground but he wouldn't :angry:

Lovely pictures though - I like the look of those round ball type things in the first picture, they look like funny shaped malteasers (guess who's on a diet again :lol: ).

Never knew the angel was SO BIG!!
