:( i'd LOVE to come but i don't have a dog :(
Doesn't matter Ilana - why don't you talk your Mum into letting you come along? We can probably give you a lift :) and there will be so many dogs there that no one will notice that you haven't got one of your own

You can borrow April the Puli she loves people who make afuss of her. :huggles:

(w00t) I may ring the radio station (GWR) 8) in the morning and say we are having a whippet walk and would anyone care to join us.......

What do you think???

Is there any chance we can make it a bit earlier?? :- "

It's a nice idea, but wouldn't it be better to keep it just K9ers first time? We don't who may turn up (and being paranoid, you can guess the way my thoughts are turning  ).

I think we've got quite a nice bunch coming - there should be around a dozen of us

Just hope the weather is okay :- "

Ok i will leave off this time :b

Cant wait

Right - it's a lovely windy bright day here, so daughter and I have been out and checked our walk route this morning

It's dead-on an hour's walk: some woodland, some big open spaces for mad whippet running, some grassland. Bits of it are fairly muddy so bring boots (welly or walking). Some high ground which was really windy today, and some more sheltered low ground especially in the woods.

The tea room doesn't let us in with dogs, but if the weather's dry we can sit out on the terrace and sip our hot chocolates - although it's worth knowing that there isn't much seating (about 12 chairs) so we might have to perch on the low wall at the edge of the terrace. The view's interesting out across the Estuary - you can see Wales, and the second Severn Crossing :)

I'm going to take a flask of coffee in case we don't make it back before the tea room closes

How much earlier? Does anyone else want to do it earlier? Maybe 2pm would suit everyone instead of 2.30?

What do you all think?

Quite happy with earlier start. :)

BUMP

o:)

I would be happy with 2pm.......if everyone can be told that is :- "

Have fun folks. I used to walk from the Blaze Castle Estate, through the fields across the top of the ridge (isn't there a hill fort or a Roman site there?), cross the little iron bridge over the road and down into that estate, around the house and back again when I used to live in Bristol. It was one of my fav walks. Most people stuck to the Dell, playing field parts of the Blaze Castle Estate so I could walk up there and see no one. Amazing considering where it is that I could take my dogs for an hour + walk and see no one for most of it.

The woods should look beautiful. Enjoy.
