iv bought of amazon a few times and seen that, "FREE" delivery option, iv never taken it as it always worries me i would be stuck paying for somthing that i dont want or need :(

glad you got you money back,

the money saving expert thingy is fab isnt it :sweating:

Yes Katie...hes a brilliant man

I always go through my statements with a fine tooth comb after being had several times before...

must admit the guy I spoke to on the phone this morning, was really nice and said my account would be credited immediately.

Thanks for this Janis, i'll need to make sure nothing has been taken from my account as I signed up for the free month trial which ends next week.

Sarah apparently Id done the same...if you dont cancel....they take the money out of your account...as they already had my card details !!!!

Hopefully I will be ok as the month isn't up yet. I was going to order something this week and then select the do not upgrade box. Im heading out this afternoon so will get a bank statement to make sure.

Thats twice with me

the last firm was VISTAPRINT.....avoid them like the plaque

I used to buy notelets and business cards....not any more...they took a membership fee of about £50 a month from

me for something Id apparently signed up for.....did get my money back in the end thank goodness... :sweating: but not without a fight

and several phone calls to a Jamaican call centre..

I noticed the option of the free next day delivery month trial thing as well, but decided not to go for it in case that happened to me! I just use the normal 2-3 working day delivery option they offer

Thanks for that got it sorted before it became a problem :)

I meant to say the 2-3 working day is free also as long as you spend £5 I think it is!!!

I would warn against Amazon full stop

they muddled my sons and my account up once...different name, phone number, card details, only address was the same, they then allowed a scammer in who got my stuff delivered to him and whatever else he wanted to buy, luckily I cancelled the order for the £2,000 camera I'd ordered but I still lost £100 +, which was never returned as I paid by Debit card not credit card so bank wouodn't help and Amazon themselves are totally impossible to contact, if you do they don't understand you or vica versa

Avoid amazon if at all possible - cheap they may be but dishonest and insecure they certainly are!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for that Clair...sorry youve had aweful hassle too...

Ive only bought smaller items...Cd's, Books etc and havnt really had any problems until this mornings statement came.

Must admit I got straight through on the phone number given on my link, ...but I shall be keeping any eye out to see if my account

has been credited, dont worry.

I would never use them again after the crap we had with them last year....took months to sort out and they were not helpful at all

We order masses of books from them, and some cd's and dvd's ... never had any trouble ... and have saved a ton on postage with the prime account. I've also made a fair few squids selling secondhand books through their site. Sorry to read others have had problems though.

I've used Amazon for the last nine years and have ordered loads of books and dvd's and never had any problem. I did try out their Prime Account but cancelled this before the trial period ended and had no problem with them taking money they were not entitled to. I have tried other online sellers but have found that they do not live up to expectations and always end up returning to amazon.

Thanks for the warning Janis. Won't apply to me as I haven't signed up for Prime membership trial but good to have your warning.

I had ordered two books from one of their marketplace sellers. Although Amazon stated that the p&p was payable on each item from their Marketplace sellers, the invoice from the Marketplace seller only quoted one set of p&p. I complained to Amazon and said I only thought I should pay one set of p&p because of this, they said (correctly) that it was stated in their terms that both were payable. Anyway I still wasn't happy, but they still refused so I said I would cancel my account with them. Still no no, so I cancelled and 'Lo and Behold' they refunded both lots of p&p.

It pays to persist.
