Hello everyone, we are new here at K9. Signed up for an account long ago but life got to busy to be an active member. I know some folks here from other message boards and thru my business Cottage Hound Designs. We started out with retired racing GH's in '97 which led us to fall in love with the little Whippet cousins. Our greys are all angels now but they hold a very special place in our hearts. Hence the handle 'Greypaws' We are presently loved by Whippets Ella & Chapel, both AKC registered. DH & I live in western N.C. in the US at the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Our family consists of a son whom is career Navy and granddog, Daisy, a purebred Rottie Posts are worthless without pictures, so here are a couple of our sweet girls.

Thank you so very much for the warm welcome. We are so blessed, in many ways. The girls are perfect and make our lives complete. Spring has just arrived and with warmer days coming, we'll get out and about. I promise to take the camera along. Western North Carolina is steeped in history. American poet Carl Sandberg lived a few short miles from us, his farm is a museum now. George Vanderbilt, our version of US royalty, built his mansion a bit north of us and much of the forest that once belonged to him is part of the Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah Forest. The mountains were a summer home to wealthy folks from Charleston and Savannah South Carolina in the 1800's & early 1900's. Chimney Rock Park is about 8 miles from us and we often take the girls with us for walks and brunch on the porch of our fav. resturaunt. The movie Dirty Dancing was filmed at Lake Lure, another 2 miles from Chimney Rock. I love the mountains, with four seasons they are ever changing. It's a wonder place to live if you like the outdoors.
