We've lived in our present location for 3 years and have never explored east of us towards Barnsley. So we decided to go and have a look and found a continuation of the Trans Pennine trail as well as a lovely reservoir. :)

No walls for Jonah to jump.

No sheep for Jonah to chase.

In fact a perfect spot!

So we had a really enjoyable afternoon. Shame the pub doesn't open on a Monday though! :(

Chasing after the ball on a rope. :)

Jonah decides to drop the ball right in a muddy puddle to have a drink. :x

great pic's

looks like a lovely place for a walk, who picked the ball out of the muddy puddle (w00t)

Unfortunately, what Muffin doesn't realise is that my husband has accidently just flung the ball sideways into the undergrowth and probably into the next field! (w00t)

Can you spot Muffin in the undergrowth - I had to look really hard to see him!

The hill in the distance is actually the reservoir dam which is where we headed off to next.

The storm clouds are gathering. (w00t)

Just a couple more to finish.

Thought this was nice etched into a wooden seat. :)

We've walked the other side a lot as some of it we can do from the house, but for some reason we've never ventured over the top to the Barnsley side until today. It only took us 15 minutes in the car to get there so I think I will do it again. Maybe we ought to meet sometime at the Penistone end.

Great pictures Gillian,.....I couldnt help thinking that the one oF your Jonah this time (the close up) reminded me of young Archies face...  that long muzzle with the white flash..look at my signature pic.

 now we have two lookalikes it seems.

Really nice scenery, and a great place to take the dogs.

Their faces are alike aren't they! (w00t) I've often thought that, but Archie's markings were that bit more arrow-like than Jonah's. But in those two pics they are very similar.

What is it with Derbyshire and these etched seats!!! We found this on a walk through Monsal dale.

My uncle Brian wrote a poem that was etched on a bench there after they had a competition - he is one of the rangers :)

Well done Uncle Brian! :D  I think it must be a Peak District thing, as although we were in Yorkshire yesterday, we were also just in the Peak Park boundary.

ooh...a new area of the Peak Park...and no sheep.

We spotted one of those etched seats near The Roaches a week or two back. It must be a new trend, because I've never spotted any before. :)
