There was some tittle tattle about the young lad who was being trained by Aaaron yesterday
I thought the young lad did a marvelous job.its great to see a young lad showing great passion and such enthusiasm to take on such an important task.

The lad has to learn somewhere and should be commended an encouraged to do so,

if your dog is good enough it will prove itself in the run regardless on how it is slipped.

lets have more young talent wanting to get involved with this wonderful sport.

At the end of the day if the dogs had a voice they would keep this sport going for ever, unfortunately certain owners always seem to take it upon themselves to cause unrest which is very unnecessary and childish,YOU are going to be the demise of this sport not the dogs.

Let's let the dogs do the talking on the track please.

Well Said!!!

i reckon it's great that there are youngsters keen to learn what the sport is about,

from the young apprentice slipper to the the kids running the lure back and forth and the young girls and boys running their beloved whippets on the day, each and every one is vital to the continuation of the game,

this sport will die with us old farts if we do nothing to encourage them :(

and whats more i didn't see a single young'un bitch, snipe or argue about anything or anyone at the event...if only all the adults could have been as grown up and civil

The young slipper can slip my dogs anytime, we all have to learn somewhere and what better a place to learn and who could train him any better than Aarron, Well done young man.

As for Kieren hes absolutly bouncing about Max winning the trophy. it now has pride of place on the trophy unit, in front of Mo"s big glass vase. :- " so think Mark must be a bit proud of it to. :huggles:

He was a very polite young man,

isn't it funny the hunting/working homes turn out well behaved well manard children yet the government saw fit to ban some sports which are a big part of how these children are brought up to be so polite?.

it's sad how true that is

but then it's easier to dish out asbo's than try and bring up decent kids that respet all living things :(

Ok folks,

i've just got off the phone with the slipper for the event Mr Aatmore.

He's asked me to post the following on his behalf as he doesnt use K9.

I would like to thank all the whippet owners who took time out to travel over and support this event, it was very nice to see so many whippets in great condition and this gave the whippet & greyhound communitys a chance to get together.

I was very pleased with young Jacks 1st attempt at slipping he did a fantastic job and will in time move on to bigger things.

unfortunatly a couple of small incidents mared an otherwise fantastic day I wont expand on this but those concerned will be aware of who they are.

I think this is the perfect time to close this thread after the slipper having added his thoughts on the day.

Here are a few videos taken by one of the people thier posted with their permission.
