Does anyone know where i can get a very small whippet collar made of soft leather? Dolly has a very small neck and i have had trouble getting collars to fit.

Any help would be great!! :)) :))

I haven't even got a whippet yet, but since I've put a bit of effort into finding whippet related sites and no one else has replied yet, I'll show you what I've found in the hope it might be of use!

http://www.fastdogs-uk.com - rather expensive but also rather lovely

http://www.nationalwhippetassoc.uk.com/tra...nture_coat.html - they sell collars here

http://my-shops.net/whippetcollars.htm - and here

Those are all I can think of at the moment, try ebay perhaps - they have a lot of new collars that can be made to measure etc. Also I've heard people talk of sellers at Crufts if you wanted to look into that?

Best of luck with your search! :luck:

Ferplast make a small fishtail whippet collar, brown leather with comfy thick padding, our dogs neck is small, starts at 26 cm the smallest hole, she's moved to the second hole now o:)

£9.99 in local pet shop

i would try and get her an Italian Greyhound collar,,try e-bay,,or Vicky on k9

I do custom made limited slip collars from Kangaroo hide which might be suitable. A few forumites have bought them from me & like them alot. Some kangaroo is very soft, if you have a look through some past threads here you'll see some pic of my collars. I'll see if I can figure out how to link them to this. If Wendy or Tracy are around maybe they can do it for me :- " 'cause I'm a dill with computers.

ok see if this works

Keith do I need to drag your mind out of the gutter?? (w00t) I suspect I DONT mean what you are thinking. It just means silly. Is that what you were thinking??

Yeah I run the roos down on foot & tear their throats out with my teeth. Actually no I dont really. I buy from the best tanners of 'roo in the country, they do a better job than I could.

Thanks everyone for your help! I measured her neck last night and she is around 24 cm. So she is small!! I will have a look at all the websites at lunch.

Hi Fiona,

Linda doesn't have a website yet, but you can pm her and she will get back to you asap. I have to admit that I have just received a pm this morning to say that my third collar from her is on it's way, and I am so excited.

Wendy raved about the kangeroo collars, but I was concerned that they might not be strong enough for one of my boys (who is a puller :b )as I couldn't get my head around the fact that something that soft would not stretch or break.

Suffice to say that I have ten collars for each of my boys and I use the kangeroo ones most of the time. They are like silk against a whippet's skin, yet you feel that your dogs is 100% safe as they cannot slip, even the most determined "backer-outer" can't get out of these collars as they are made to measure.

I hope that you find some nice collars for your girl

I'm surprised TC didn't include me in that remark as well!!!

I got Fatness a lovely little collar from Terry Ward at the NWA show last Sunday, soft green snakeskin!!!

He much prefers it to the nylon one I first put on him.

Hi Wendy,

Glad to see you safely back in England :D I wondered if you would type a reply to this once you waded through all the posts that you had missed whilst away (w00t)

Sorry Dessie, forgot to mention your addiction too :- "

I am soooooooo excited at the moment, but also quite grumpy as I am currently waiting for two collar deliveries and one order for some scrummy bespoke leads and they just seem to take so long :( I know I'm so impatient, but whats a girl to do once you become infected

Hope you managed to get something lovely for your pup Fiona...........

Was that the muted turquoisy one?? If so, I was torn between that and the green one. Tried them both against Sid, who is not far off in colour to Fatness, and decided the green looked better (and more boyish!)

No - he didn't have the funky colours then - mine was Navy. I'd definitely have gone for the turquoise one though - I'm not a green kinda person. :D
