A lady came to my door today knowing we have whippets wondering if we had lost one.

She is now staying here for the time being until we find her owners if possible. If anyone knows of any lost in the Scunthorpe area please PM me.

Can anyone help with any contacts to report her missing in this area.

Hi, If you are having trouble with the pic, ( it must be under 75kb), can you give a description, approx age, colour, markings etc.

She is about 5+, brindle but with alot of hair loss and greying muzzle. She is in need of a good dental clean-up as her teeth are green :x .Was in need of food and refreshments too.The lady who brought her round had seen her wandering in the middle of a very busy road for a while, seeing that she was in danger of been hit she managed to get hold of her.As I only live around the corner she thought maybe she was mine and had managed to get out.She had no i d at all.I'm hoping she has'nt just been dumped as we have just had gypies move onto the field near to us a couple of days ago. Will put some pics on tomorrow as soon as possible.

cheers Gina

trying to get some pics up but having trouble

poor lamb :( she must be wondering whats happening, at least she is getting some much needed TLC now

good luck finding her owner :luck:

She has no hair on her chest but does not seem iratated at all.She has been so good all night sleeping with my daughter and has eaten well this morning. :huggles: I am going to ring round rspca etc today.Would they be able to check if shes chipped or would I have to take her along to my vet?

I found this on Dogpages lost and found section...

http://www.dogpages.org.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=83591 doesnt look the same colour though. Maybe you could post that you have found her on there? If she had been stolen by travellers and them dumped she could have come from anywhere. The RSPCA do have scanners, personally I'd take her to the vet.

Poor girl I do hope you get some joy from the RSPCA/vets :luck: :luck: :luck:

I've contacted a few people in the area & no one has heard of anone losing her.

Mind you,i don't think i'd want her to go back to her owners if her teeth are that bad which tends to say she hasn't been very well looked after :(

Aww what a lovely little bitch  hope she finds her owners soon :luck: :luck:

Good luck with your search for her owners, bless her, she looks lovely. I am so glad that you were able to take her in and give her lots of love. Hopefully if you are able to post on the missing/lost dog sites a very grateful owner will come forward.

Please get your daughter to give her a big kiss from my boys

probably a good idea for her to get checked over at the vets anyway,

i'd be happy to chip in for anything she needs (maybe a quick k9 whip round ;) )

 your an angel for taking her in and caring for her, :luck: :luck: :luck:

good idea- I'll chip in too

I bet sh's enjoying staying with you. If she's come from a bad home I bet its like having a holiday.

Bless her, she does look such a sweet girl. :huggles:

So glad you are looking after her.

Without knowing her history it's difficult to pass judgement.

She does look in a poor old condition though, but hopefully she will have a brighter future ahead now a whippet person is caring for her.

:luck:

When I read the offer of help I was overwhelmed. My OH has had to be put on sick due to an injury from work.Any contributions towards her vet fee if any would be much appreciated by us and 'Emily' which is what my daughter has called her whilst she is with us.She is such a placid dog and likes nothing better than lounging around on the sofa.
