Whippet In The Pound

whippetwise said:
There is a whippet girl in the pound in Ireland at the moment. If anyone would like to donate to help get her out, there is a paypal link for dunboyne dogs at the bottom of the post. Here she is:

I hope someone takes her on quickly and she doesnt stay in the pound for long.

yes it is miserable and cold in those kennels and no blankie for warmth. :( and no she wont be in there for long.they only get 5 days and then.......... :(

:( ooo dear god not even a bed to sleep on just plastic ,breaks my heart :(

OMG thats awful...i really hope someone can get her out fast...she must be freezing , i cant believe theres not even a blanket in here basket

How much money do you need to get her out...im happy to donate but it wont be much

dublin council charge the rescue 25 pounds to get a dog out. the dog warden who runs the pound there wont let the rescue give the dogs blankets cos he says its a fire risk.

however im still collecting blankets and towels for them cos the other pounds will let the dogs have a blanket and the rescues always need blankets and towels anyway

I donated this morning - have to work out the euro exchange rate! They should have enough now to get her out anyhow I hope

the biggest problem dunboyne dogs (martina)has is foster homes for the dogs she rescues.they dont have kennels so if theres no foster homes available they have to pay to keep the dogs in kennels until a home can be found for them.thats where a lot of their funds go :(

If she wasn't in Ireland I'd go and get her tomorrow!!

Poor wee girlie :( How do we know if she's out of the pound??

every time i go on the site and see the dogs in that pound it makes me so upset.cold wet concrete floors and a plastic bed to lie in. :( if this little one does get released martina will post on the petsireland site.the ones that dont get out go in the other forum, where their names and details are logged in rememberance of the ones who didnt get lucky :(

ooo good luck jane got everything crossed here :luck: :luck:

I have contacted Martina (or tried to,it's an answering machine) and left a message on behalf of "The Northern Ireland Whippet Club Rescue" saying that we will pay to get this girl out and rehome her ourselves,I have not had a reply as of yet but will keep on trying until I can get to talk to someone directly...though I have a feeling it may well be Monday now before I hear anything as I am not too sure of their hours of business?

Incidently,Dunboyne do actually have our club "Rescue's" details and contact number already as they were contacted previously regarding the blue bitch with the broken leg that was PTS and they assured us that if they got another whippet in they would contact us.

let us know asap when you get some news

i'l be thinking about her all alone in her cold damp kennel...i just cant believe they dont even put a coat on her...fire risk.. with all that concrete the warden is having a laugh isnt he

What a disgrace for a kennel. Fire risk my arse...just can't be bothered to clean/provide new bedding I'd hazard a guess

I'm starting to feel a bit depressed seeing the plight of some of these whippets of recent threads, especially when you see them ending up in god forsaken holes like that.
