oh my god! she looks very sweet... we're thinking of calling her Stella! Also noticing that she looks quite big  but maybe that's a trick of the camera too in part....bearing in mind that mum and dad aren't huge... have to wait and see I suppose! :p Thanks for the suggestion about transportation...we'd like to meet Harry and her Mum and her brothers and sisters too, to know a bit more about her... love, Caroline and Keith

Hi Caroline,

That little bitch you're having is absolutely gorgeous. I went round to Harry's over xmas and fell in love with her - but I wasn't allowed to have her - already got 5!!

Stella is a fantastic name - my beddy x is called Stella

Hi again,
Yeah...I was starting to panic a bit about the size as originally we were thinking of a smallish dog...have migrated from considering a jack russell :p but I think it's a good point that it's not really the size of the dog that makes the difference, but how they are. A couple of inches isn't going to make that much difference really, when I think about it! I don't think we could change our minds now anyway, we've got a bit attached to her already  Plus I've posted up her picture on Facebook :b . We'd love to see any pics of her Dad though just for our info. Saturday's coming quickly, you're right! We've already got her crate ordered...any tips on what kinds of leads/collars to get? BW, Caroline
Hi Caroline,

Lurcher Lover is one of my best mates, she loved your little girl, the same as me.I panicked when we adopted Lady,i had only seen pics of her before she came from Ireland, but i have never looked backed. You wont even notice as she will grow before you know it.I would start off with a soft basic collar and lead for now,she may need a fishtail collar, like a Whippet, when she is older, but there are some great websites that sell beautiful ones.I can recommend www.Jansgifts.co.uk.she does all sorts.

All my dogs are wearing her collars.Harry will tell you about feeding, but i know he feeds raw minced meat from the petshop, and Wafcol puppy dried. He is very knowledgeable. Have you got your crate bowls, they are invaluable,as they fasten to you cage,so don,t spill.I also use Vetbed in my crate for my pup,not forgetting,a million toys!!

Hi again: thanks for the tips re: collars and bowls etc...we've got a crate bowl for her water and just one toy so far! We've been looking into the BARF diet (Bones and Raw Food), so glad to hear that she's been getting raw minced meat too. Will be good to chat with Harry about other tips... getting closer now! love, Caroline and Keith xxx

Hi Caroline and Keith,

Not long now!!!I am a big fan of raw meat. The free flow meat is so easy to feed and store. My pup,Cracker, has been primarily fed this way,and he is thriving. We feed Hills dried as a top up,and give SA37 tablets to all our dogs. She is a very lucky girl.

I just hope you love her when you see her.If i can help in any other way,i am always here.I am dog mad,and love all mine to bits.Bet you are getting excited,it is such a big thing getting a pup.

Keith and Caroline came to collect the smallest bitch today.I went to Harrys to meet them, and what lovely people they are.

They had travelled all the way from Hastings to Notts!!They were both delighted when they met there new pup,and were pleased that she was not as big as they had thought.I was quite sad to see the pup go,as she was my favourite, but i know she is in the best of hands. Please post some pics, and let us know how she gets on,and lots of luck.Hope she does,nt keep you awake for too many nights.

Hi Folks,

Just wanted to post up to say how happy we are with our little Stella...she's a fantastic little dog, so clever and sweet and eager to please! It was definitely worth driving up from Hastings to fetch her as there's nothing like her around locally, we've been looking. If anyone is thinking about getting a Whippet x Poodle, don't think twice, these pups are all absolutely beautiful, strong, full of life, and a lovely temperament (based on ours and what we saw of the others). The other little girl is so sweet and gentle. We'll post up some pictures of Stella in the next few days - her coat is getting shaggier every day (well, I know it's only been two days, but seems like more!).

Also, how long do you think it will be before she can make it through the night without wetting her little furry pants? This parenting lark is a bit tiring! :teehee: just wondering as I've not had a puppy before? love, Caroline

Hi Caroline and Keith,

Shirley said you had rang and said how pleased you were with Stella. The weeing in her cage will stop after a week or two.My pup was a little monkey for it,but it did,nt last long. Can,t wait to see the pics.

She actually hasn't weed in her crate but she does go on the floor outside the crate (when we've not shut her in) at some point during the night before 3.30am when one of us comes down to let her outside. I don't like to shut her in the crate all night because she obviously can't last more than a 3-4 hours at the moment and I don't want her to get distressed in the crate at this stage. I was wondering how long it takes for their little bladders to be able to last the night (so we don't need to do a night shift!)...then I can shut her in her crate overnight and not worry til the morning. Don't worry if there's no clear answer, just wondering if anyone has any pointers though as to what to expect...

Hi Caroline,

By the sounds of it,it wont be long.I think all pups are different, but give it a couple of weeks. You are lucky that she is clean in her crate. All my pups had accidents in the crate, its lovely when you pop to the shops, and come back to pooh plastered between the bars, buts thats pups for you.Part of the fun

Hi,

Yes,they do on the pics, but in the head, they have a different shape.I have seen a GreyhoundxPoodle, and it did look like a beddyxGreyhound.

Great! Happy to hear that! Stella is continuing to do really well. We've just started her doing clicker training, got a collar on her, and starting to get her used to using the lead...she's such a good girl and is sometimes able to restrain herself from chewing it! I've taken loads of photos but none of them will win wildlife photography of the year I have to admit...the camera seems to blur when it looks at her! Also taken some really cute video clips of her doing usual puppy things...shaking her rug to death, leaping in the air etc etc, but not sure if I can get them up. Anyway, I'm now going to attempt to post up some piccies...until I can get some better ones! I'm sure she's grown already...

OK....grrrrr - it won't let me upload it because the size of the pic is too big?! I'll try attaching some to an email maybe?? there must be a way of compressing it, but it's beyond me right now. Hmm...something to work on! Any hints gratefully received: the pics are JPegs and they are about 1.8mb each I think.

Love,

Caroline

Ahh Caroline,

Stella looks so content and happy, and Keith looks like the cat that got the cream!!!She looks more beautiful than last week, and i agree, her fur is getting longer, but that just adds to her charm.Keep the pics coming,i will let you know when the two remaining pups find new homes.I do,nt think it will be long.
