It wouldn't change by not having her speyed - it is more in long haired and double coated breeds that will drop their coats. But equally the extreme hormonal changes that occur by speying occur in all breeds however you notice it more in certain breeds such as Goldies, english setters etc their coats go incredibly 'wooly' to the extent that they can't be shown as their coats are so so poor. Tendency to put on weight is also common and one I hear the most about it incontinence, 90% of all people I speak to with incontinent bitches have had them speyed.

It is a operation and anaesthesia has its own risks so shouldn't be under taken likely.
 
our molly was speyed at 7 years old due to a pyo and now almost 11 is now incontinent, she takes medication for this and its working well for her.

i have had another bitch that was speyed late on due to a pyo and she was fine.
