Willow was taken to the vets tonight,as his ear has swollen up and the vet suspects a burst blood vessel,so they are keeping him in tonight to be operating on tommorrow I am really worry as he is coming up to 11 in April.

good luck Willow, hope it is simple to sort out, must be a nightmare to keep a post op ear from being shaken about.....I remember reading on here that people put a sock, minus toes ! over their whippets head to keep the ear from being shaken and flapped, goodluck xxx

Which by is Willow? Poor chap, is it a heamatoma?

I expect it is a haematoma, and they will stitch some buttons on his ear - he will look lovely when he gets home - well that's what you have to tell him anyway Hope it all goes well for him. He will be fine I'm sure - most vets use very safe anaesthetics nowadays, the sort used for babies in hospital. Try not to worry :huggles:

My little cat, Figgy, who will be 18 in May, is at the veterinary hospital tonight. She went in today for investigation of a swelling on her jaw. They have taken a biopsy but they decided to keep her in as the site was bleeding. She has never stayed away from home before but I know she is being well cared for.

Have a peaceful night Willow and Figgy.
