Really proud of Zephyr getting his Kennel Club Gold Good Citizen award on Saturday :huggles: :huggles:

Well done to my lovely boy for putting up with all the training, which involved heelwork on and off lead, food manners (leaving a plateful of lovely treats until allowed to eat them :sweating: ), recalls, stop immediately on command, send to bed from a distance, out of sight stays etc, etc. It took about 2 and a half hours for the six of us to complete all the tests :sweating:

Here is a picture of him after the event - it's really tiring you know! -_-

What a great pic. Congratulations and well done Zephyr.

Way to go Zephyr, Congratulations

I know how tricky it can be as I'm just doing gold with my pup, our test is December 2nd :sweating:

  Well done Zephyr

That is a real achievement, I only got silver with Fern and gave up after bronze with Sky (a little bit of brain would have helped!!)

It's a difficult one with any dog, never mind a whippet - not the easiest dog to train! Congrats again

Congratulations!!

You must feel so proud of him. :)

Zephyr that is a tremendous achievement well done you and your mum.

Jenny

congratulations  what a lovely achievement after all that hard work training

Well Done Zephyr! I did the Kennel Club tests with Chloe - she was hard work  My parents Whippet, Alfie, is working towards his bronze at the moment. He's a challenge too! :D

(w00t) CONGRATULATIONS ZEPHYR!!!

Well done for displaying brain-dom when all of mine deny whippets possess any brain at all.... :clown:

A big well done to you both

Ah, thanks one and all - I am indeed a very proud Mum at the moment, and doing the training was really good for both of us  - and has certainly improved his general obedience again as I had been letting him get away with murder for far too long :b but now his recall is excellent!! o:)

Good luck to anyone else who is going to have a go :luck: - we really enjoyed it, and it is a good reminder about your responsibilities as a dog owner too, as there is quite a big theory section on responsiblity and care

What a great achievement

And I thought Digger had done well getting his bronze :- "

Am conternplating the silver, but I DO think the food manners bit could well be a major stumbling block (w00t) (w00t)

WELL DONE

Well done Zephyr. I bet ignoring those treats was really hard work for you. (w00t) A good sleep must be just what you needed after all that.
