id like to think im much the same as everyone else,

but i have noticed recently that i will quickly scan through what new topics/posts there just to see what going on with the intent on replying later,

then later looking through remebering i have read it and thinking i have replied  and so forgetting to reply :b

do try to make a point of replying to nice photos, cause i think thats what attracted me to the forum in the first place, was all the nice photos people post :)

I always go to view new posts . I reply to people who have been friendly towards me , topics I feel strongly about or have experience of . I also try to be welcoming of new people , admire nice photos and also reply to people who don't seem to have many replies :b
That's an interesting point ... I do too, but on the rare occasions when I've had a slightly hostile exchange of views with someone I also always try to reply positively afterwards to something that they post ... I think it's so easy to fall out online when you can't hear tone of voice or see body languge and it's important not to let what would have been a minor difference of opinion in the real world become an issue in the online one.
What about when you know someone is avoiding answering on your post because

for some reason they seem to have a problem with you.

Would you then ignore their topics or respond to them to try and show there is no

problem on your part ?

I must admit to being childish and just avoid their topics :b

well i used to replie lots to post as well as posting my own topics used to practicaly live on here ,but have since learned sharing your life and dogs on a open forum "somtimes the info gets used against you and chucked up in your face " hence why i dont post much anymore :( althou im still a full time lurker :p

Here's a reply ............ HALLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! :D

I have pretty much the same criteria as yourself, Ann, although sometimes I miss a topic becausse it has dropped to the bottom of the list without me seeing it

Sometimes I only have time to scan read the topics and don't reply immediately but I try to reply at a later stage, especially for those I consider to be my buddies :huggles:
Could'nt have put it better myself jane :D  Well that saved me a bit if time didn't it :-

Do you all go to 'See new post's' or go tocertain sections like 'whippets' for example ?

I tend to reply to post that I find interesting or to those people I consider online friends. I also like to welcome new people. I do use the view new posts option. I have noticed that sometimes it seems to miss topics that are new and I only come across them much later.

I try to continue on the post of those whom I feel MAY have a problem with me...except for in areas where I'm not allowed to go anymore...but thats another story ;)

i tend to reply to very few post. takes me that long to read them and then to reply i would never be off the site. its not that I'm rude but with being dyslexic its takes ages to reply so alot of the new pics and new puppy i would love to welcome i just can't. but i fined cos i dont reply much people dont rely reply to mine but there not a lot i can do about that. so i stick to he odd bit of advice if there's anything i know that could help and the odd update my gang. I used to do lot more but when my old computer with its easy to use spell checker died and iv gone on the lap top it can take me 1/2 an hour to reply unless Alex is in and shes got few minutes to reply for me. so when you see me looking and then not putting a response its not me being ignorant its can't not wont

Interesting topic Ann, agree with you on this one Hula, I always reply to nice pics :D I also sometimes just follow a topic to see which way it is going before replying too ;) The only problem with going to new posts though is you are sometimes not sure which section it has been posted in, I have sections that I rarely post in as I don't feel I know enough about certain things :clown: :clown:

HELLOOO ANN...

I tend to post on people i class as "friends" on here......even if i do talk a lot of crap :teehee:

sometimes i will read posts...but if i have nothing good or helpful to add then i dont bother adding usless info !!!

also there are folk on here that i find quite annoying and up themselves ......i havent got time to reply to folk who think they know best..................

I agree and will do this too but will give up eventually if they don't seem interested in what I have to say :(

When I know someone who I have been friendly with stops answering my posts and I have no idea why I will only keep trying for so long then I will give up :b

I usually go to 'todays' active topics' and general whippets.

There are about a dozen regulars whose whippets/ dogs I've become quite attached to (virtually :D ) and I always read their posts and comment if I have something useful/ supportive to say. Some of these people I have other things in common with as well eg people who have littermates, people with dogs of similar colours, people with kids with Asperger's/ autism etc

I also often welcome new people and new dogs.

If people I don't really know are posting about having problems similar to ones I've had I will offer advice, for what it's worth :)

I used to reply to a lot more but am wary now after people have taken things the wrong way or been incredibly judgemental. There are one or two (don't post much now) who I have opposite viewpoints to, so don't get involved at all. If I see something contentious that I know is going to flare up, I watch but don't comment

Also, time is a real issue - like others have said, often I read stuff and fully intend to reply but just don't get chance. I also love it when people who haven't been on for a while give updates eg pointydogs and django's peeps so will take time to reply.

a great debate annie!! we are on page 3 and no falls outs!!! must be a record ;)

very good topic ann, i have been on and read it earlier but hannah decided to do something naughty

i do try to reply to all the people who i class as friends posts but sometimes i read them and think i must say something then my brain goes off on a different path and i genuinely forget, there are certain people i wouldn ever coment on there posts cos i can't stand them maybe there is loads that feel like about me but hey ho thats life, what i hate is when you get certain people that think they have a god given right by spoiling someones post just out of nastiness, if you can't say something nice and constructive don't say nothing at all :D

Its interesting seeing how you all decide what to reply to and your reasons.

Its a shame a few of you are reluctant to post in case you get knocked

down if you don't agree with someone. It shouldn't be like that we are

all entitled to our own opinion.

And yes it is nice to see 3 pages and no rucking
