Hi Janimal,
Was going to reccommend www.vetuk.co.uk as we bought the diffuser and spray for £31 including postage from there, but looking at the link Masta has posted, it seems cheaper by a pound or two from there :) And it'll certainly be cheaper then from your vet.
It's excellent stuff -...
I'm the last person to be giving advice, having only been a dog owner for 2 weeks, and not coping very successfully with it! But I just wanted to reiterate what Masta said about the DAP spray/diffuser. I was sceptical when OH bought it, and thought if it did work it'd take ages before we saw...
The only thing with little DeeDee is, she will, and has, screamed and thrashed for an hour CONTINUOUSLY without anything more then a 15 second break, which is why it's been hard to debate whether we leave her doing it indefinately until she physically collapses from being so worked up, or...
Thanks Wendy, thats a good idea.
The only thing I was thinking though is, if she wakes up, realises the door's shut, and starts screaming and thrashing, won't us going to her and opening the door just make her think that that's what she needs to do to get Mummy and Daddy to come and free her...
The DeeDee Monster slept from 12.30 til 6am last night! Yay!! She only started her screaming when she heard the alarm clock go off at 6 :D
Not sure if the DAP did it's job and helped her feel more secure, or if the stories on BBC7 were particularly good last night, and kept her entertained...
The DAP pheremone diffuser and spray have arrived this morning. The diffuser is plugged in near to the crate, and the crate and bedding have been liberally sprayed.
Will this stuff work? Anyone else ever used to it to calm down anxious dogs - how succesful did you find it?
We got the cat one...
Wow lovely photos! I particularly like the colour one of him looking directly at the camera, his neck looks extra long and he has 1 floppy folded ear, and one "bat" ear - gorgeous!
That's a lovely sight to see :)
DeeDee's arrival has been a big change to our monster cat Saffy, but she's been a superstar about it really, and is accepting her more everyday. As long as DeeDee doesnt physically touch her - certainly no bottom sniffing allowed - then she says she doesnt mind...
What if you can't ignore them though? What if you try, and the longer you leave them, the more they scream and scream, getting louder and louder, and more worked up??
:'(
Thank you for the links Jok, not sure why I couldnt just find them myself!
Interesting read, seeing all those lovely ears :D I think that bat eared dogs look just as lovely
Guess it's just a matter of wait and see then.
I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find an answer on the "search" thing.
Do all whippets ears end up folded prettily to the sides?
DeeDee's ears are folded over, like a Jack Russells at the moment, not whippety at all. In fact, one of our neighbours actually asked if she...
Sorry they're mostly of her asleep or covered up, but you know what puppies are like for standing still to have their picture taken! :)
Looking pretty
