OOPS!!!!
Told you I was very tired.
It was Gr Ch Sherbeghan Silk Road.
Half right. :)
Guess this is why we should always wait for 'official' results. Will post them tonight.
Cheers

Sorry guys, it's been a very loooooong and exhausting weekend for most of us. Sighthound Show Saturday, Whippet Show Sunday, Sydney Royal Monday and work today! Give me a day and I'll post full whippet results. Rebecca and I just finished Keith Thornton's critiques today and did the marked...
Just a reminder to Oz exhibitors that starting time is 9 am and not 10 am as in previous years. Mr Thornton has drawn a good entry so it's just as well we're starting earlier. Also, with Sydney Royal the next day, we don't want a long day.
Cheers

A dog can win from any class so in the long run, I don't think it matters much what class a dog is entered in. The choice of multiple classes only suits me because I enter multiple dogs and I try and split them up so I can handle them.
If this exhibitor is deliberately ignoring the age limits...
Roberto, whilst best known for Affies, also exhibits and breeds Greyhounds.
Keith did exhibit and breed whippets but is more well known for Afghans. He still has a keen interest in racing greyhounds.

Rhonda advised the Club that although she is willing to help out, she is not able to run Whippet Rescue any more so we have people in various areas who have offered to assist. It's always better if the relevant state clubs are contacted in such instances and then they can disseminate and act on...
Just a reminder that the Whippet Club NSW Show will be Easter Sunday. Judge is Mr Keith Thornton from Karnak Kennels in the UK.
We'd love to see you and your dogs so if you are contemplating entering and would like a copy of the schedule, please email me for a copy or if you are a Whippet Club...
I've just returned from a couple of weeks holiday and received Tesa's private post about this.
Personally, from past experience when dealing with RR rescue, I don't think anything is gained by naming and shaming breeders or owners. It's a pity the owner didn't contact the breeder or Club first...
Hey, you left out Airescot Chaconne & Waistcoat!!!
And interestingly, all males. I appreciate that dogs can sire lots of litters in a short space of time and so they do have an impact, but my girls are more important than any male a they are the future.
An interesting topic and read.

If anyone can work the weather out lately, they deserve a medal! :) Nothing seems 'normal' anymore. Although you can be guaranteed that Melbourne will be colder and often wetter. :)
There are two whippet shows in Sydney - one on Easter Sunday and one the first weekend in October. My...
If it's mainly whippets you want to see, do the Melbourne Specialty then 2 weeks later visit the most beautiful city in Australia :D - Sydney and their Whippet Specialty and a Houndfest so several Hound Specialties and a Sighthound Show. The Hound Club show is the week after the Sydney...
Hi Jackie
If this was for the same appointment that Katrina asked on another whippet list, I sent her a whole list of Hound judges and their breeds. If you need it, I'll send PM.

What a great topic! :)
My original prefix 30 years ago was RAJIKI which means comrade in Swahili (or so I was told) because then I only had Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
With the addition of a Gordon Setter, in the mid 1980's we changed our prefix to RIDGESETTER. Clever eh?
With the...
Can you send me a copy of your form as I completed forms only last week (supplied by my vet) and there certainly isn't any provision for the breeder's details.
Is this going to be National?
Cheers
Grab a cuppa before tackling this prose!
Maturity in a youngster isn't necessarily an asset. It just means they may win early on.
Judges are there to judge the best dog ON THE DAY regardless of it's age or level of maturity. There's nothing wrong with a 6 month old dog winning on the day if...
Very interesting topic but complex and I’m sure there are different opinions depending on what country you reside in and how your system operates. I won't separate puppies from adults as puppies don't influence the future of a breed.
When judging, you have to remove your breeder's hat and put...
Seraphina, I'm curious how you will be able to keep your name on the records? How is your system different from ours as I thought Victoria was adopting the NSW system and using the same database?
It's been law for many years now in NSW that no dog can be sold unless microchipped. So we...
Genetics will influence how the dog turns out in respect of size, legginess, colour, etc. Management will determine musculation and condition. Different lines develop differently.
