Every litter that I had over the past 40 years was vaccinated between 6 - 8 weeks. No problems with autoimmune diseases. I cannot see how would vaccination "over stimulate" the immune system. Every creature is bombarded by pathogens from the moment they are born, and that makes their immune...
I also had a bitch that had first season at 2.5 years. But once she started she came every 9 months. Some just take their time. Her mum and sister were all the normal starting at 14 or 15 months.
Yes, it is becoming fashionable in USA not to vaccinate - dogs and children. Thanks to that we now see childhood diseases that we thought are all but extinct
in developed world. Last year we had a huge outbreak of whooping cough, with at least one little baby dying. and many others being very...
I think it is very important that the breeder knows. To start with they will most likely be able to recomend vet who knows Whippets. IF this puppy really has a problem, even if it is mild and will not cause any problems to the dog, the breeder should know that they produced pup with heart...
There is just one thing, have you told the breeder? If a new puppy is diagnosed with a problem, the breeder should be the first to be told.
I certainly would not recommend 6 monthly x-ray (= putting the dog under anaesthetic plus exposing them to radiation). Especially as this vet is most...
It is more that to get any meaningful result they would have to do more than the dozen or so markers; it would have to be much more expensive than what is commercially acceptable.
Some X breds are generation after generation crossbreds; if you could do their pedigree there may not be many so...
These sort of test are notoriously unrelieble. If you use another company you will most likely get totally different result. My bet is still mostly beagle, with possibly some Whippet and probably other breeds. 20" is the size of Whippet, one of his parents may be Whippet or Whippet cross...
I got my girls fantastic coats from this lady:

at the time she did not have the sizes and colours I wanted, so I contacted her, she made them specially, and I had them here in OZ within a week :)
But as others already pointed out...
Thanks everybody for the lovely comments. i am very pleased with her; now I just have to persuade her to behave in the ring. Her brother Ikariam, who used to be the naughty one, had his first show, the Whippet Specialty in Czech Republic and won BIS baby puppy :D
Ikariam TWA
Our Ikariam (TWA pedigree) , who went to Europe 4 weeks ago, had his first show yesterday, Whippet Specialty in Czech Republic, and won
BIS baby puppy :D
Yes, that is true, but there are ways to educate public. For instance, in one stage our club ran ads in papers (long time before internet) in Pet section saying; "are you looking for purebred dog? Contact the breed club for list of registered breeders. Phone..........."
People, do not care...
