Litter Now Nearly 7 Weeks Old!

I was hoping to have a doggy friend come and visit to assist in taking some photos of my litter. Unfortunately, she couldn't make it so I had to be satisfied with informal photos. I am especially pleased with the evenness and quality of the litter. Proud father is Barmaud's Mr Rumpole (imp...

    Cost Of A Whippet Pup?

I have read the comments on this topic and it appears that some consider the cost of whippets as obscene. I bought my dog six years ago for the prices quoted. While it was expensive by our standards (given our exchange rate), I was prepared to pay the asking price as I wanted the lines and...

    Puppies Are 4 Weeks Old!!!!!!

My father/daughter litter is now 4 weeks old and, behold!, they each have four legs and one head :D They ventured outside for the first time today as it was nice and warm. I am pleased with their development. Their mother, Calahorra Petticoat Lane (imp Aust), has been a very good first time...

    Litter Announcement!

I agree Nina but they combination must be researched and that no common faults are doubled up with. The inbreeding co-efficient is 40% so it is not as a horrendous combination as most would think. While the breeding is father/daughter, the dogs behind are from the same lines but not...

    Litter Announcement!

While I would have preferred to have done a grandfather/granddaughter mating (proven to be a successful combination time after time), being in New Zealand and therefore isolated from the tremendous choice breeders have in other countries, especially Britain, there wasn't much choice for me. The...

    Front Angulation

Whippets are NOT a trotting breed, therefore they do not require a well laid back shoulder. Anyway, where are you going to find such a shoulder in the breed? It is erronious wanting TRAD (tremendous reach and drive) and all show dogs having the double suspension trot a la GSD.

    Happy 14th Birthday Flo!

I can't believe it has been fourteen years since this little girl was born! Happy birthday, Flo!!! Despite hating the show ring, Flo had a successful show career with several Group wins and her title. The highlight of her short show career was her going Best in Show at the South Island...

    It's Tough Life For Whippets!

My whippets realise the benefits of sheepskin so they respect it. Now, rabbit fur, well that's a different story! :D

    It's Tough Life For Whippets!

It's a cold rainy day today indicating that winter has finally arrived here in the deep south! The fire is lit and the whippets have made themselves comfortable as best they can. Poor thing :D

    Whippet Joy!

A barking Huntaway behind them would chivvy them along, I'm sure! :D
