We have to go to my husbands brothers funeral on Tuesday. They lived approximately 3 hours drive away from us.
We won't be able to take Dudley so have arranged for our grandaughter to stay with him.
The funeral is at 1pm so theoretically we won't be able to leave it until three or four with a...
We are lucky in having a very dog friendly local pub which we visit in the mornings for coffee and sometimes breakfast.
The bar staff always bring a biscuit out for the dogs and this is Dudleys way of asking. First time I ever managed a photo.
On the dog walking field. Eight dogs ranging from small French Bulldog to Saint Bernard. All get along with no problems.
Women comes through gate and promptly takes her Rottweiler off the lead. He made a bee line for the dogs with her running after him shouting he is friendly.
Dogs in all...
Dudley sleeps on my bed. For the past three nights he has been coming upstairs with me as usual, but instead of getting on the bed as usual he sits on the floor and stares at me. I end up picking him up and putting him on the bed where he promptly curls up and goes to sleep.
He gets off the...
I don't like my vet. Luckily Dudley hasn't had many visits. Boosters and I call in for wormer and flea treatment.
He is the senior vet, everyone else at the practice is very nice. Including the two lovely lady vets.
This man was my vet when we had our horses ,luckily he didn't visit them...
Dudley appears to have what my groomer has told me is a hotspot. It is right on top of his head. He has managed to scratch it with his back foot and it has been bleeding. What is the best thing to do.
Since coming back from our holiday (with Dudley) he wants to play at nine o'clock at night.
He cries until one of us gives in. At nine we really want to just relax.
He gets two good walks a day and lots of playing from us during the day.
How do I reset his body clock?
Wetherspoons have banned dogs from all their pubs, including the gardens. Apparently because some children are afraid of dogs and they want to encourage young families coming for lunch.
As my dog is generally much better behaved than most children I find this absolutely ridiculous.
Just a bit of advice please. Dudley has a small spot on his front leg. He has been continually licking it and is making it sore. I have been cleaning it, there is no oozing but I am having trouble stopping him licking. Should I trim the fur around it or just leave it? When I say little, on a...
Having struggled to find ethical wet food I have been feeding Dudley fish and chicken, although not at the same time. This is a topper on his Canagan kibble. Do I need to give him any supplements? If so what is the best? I cook both the fish and the chicken and freeze it in daily portions...
I have been making Dudleys food for a little while now. Mostly it is chicken but our local butcher sells skinned and jointed rabbit.
Would this be ok to give him. I am aware there are small bones involved in rabbit, do I pick them out, or do I feed it to him with the bones.
Apparently there is an increase in lungworm in dogs.
Dudley has Milbemax every three months for worming including prevention of lungworm.
Apparently it is now recommended that dogs receive Milbemax monthly for prevention of lungworm.
I discussed this with my vet today and she agreed that dogs...
I feed Dudley Canagan dry food. It is packaged in the UK and supposedly free range.
I do like to add a spoonful of wet food. Have been using Applawse but have now discovered the meat is sourced and the food tinned in Thailland. Lilys kitchen is Spain.
I really do not want to use a meat which...
Just read an article about little Jeffrey who died after being attacked by two dogs.. Apparently the owner than ran off and left his two dogs behind.
This person needs to be found but I know from experience that the police and dog warden will just say they don't get involved with dog on dog...
