Hey there - Don't think reserve dog was Sheberghan The Pilgrim unless he flew over from NZ at the weekend?????  I am sure I saw Pilgrim with Priscilla at our shows in NZ???

:thumbsup: Thank You All for your congratulations on CH Byerley Longines(Heath's) Best of Breed at Sydney Royal Show :thumbsup:

It was a very exciting win which saw him made up as an Australian Champion.

Not only did his sire INT ENG IR & AUST CH Collooney Silver Jigolo (Barney) win BOB at Sydney Royal in 2006 but his dam CH Byerley Sybilla (Syb) won BOB at the same Royal Show in 2004.

Runner up to Best of Breed, was CH Sheberghan The Romance by USA CH & AUST CH Byerley Saville Row (Sav) X Hillsdown Atlanta (Imp UK), which was really keeping it in the family as Sav & Syb are litter mates.

just a small brag, my Black Whippet Swifthund I'll Be Black attained her Aust Champ Title last weekend with a Best in Group win Judge: Mr McMillan NSW, she needed 8 points to finish and ended up with 40 points for the long weekend!!

Also had a Runner up in Group with my Ibizan Hound(Leo), he also attained his title last weekend. Judge: Glenda Goller (QLD)

Great to have another black champion

I used to show black Danes in Sydney (lot hotter than here in Melbourne) and if we needed to stand in the sun I would keep a wet towel over them until just moments before going into the ring.

Nah, was wondering if I was going mad myself, I was sure I saw Priscilla with Pils at the weekend, but then she comes to shows with a decent bunch & I am running around like a flea in a fit & don't really pay attention :- "

Ya never know when the whippeys cross the tasman - having said that, I would think Priscilla would cut off her arm before she would part with Pils (w00t)

Got home to a very excited message on my phone from Lee-Anne Symonds with my fawn Cash x Aime puppy "Aslan Take The MoneynRun"

At his first show in minor today he took the CC (9 points) (beating his half brother/nephew "Laddie" in the class) and RUBOB to his Aunty (mother's sister) Ch Aslan My Cherie Amour who went on to get RIG. And because Lee-Anne had to run to show the kelpies, my Mum was the one who showed BJ for the challenge! So in essence mum took CC dog, CC bitch, BOB and RUBOB :lol:

This was at Nanango show under Peter Warby who gave Aime a RIS in 2005. So I am very impressed! He seems to like my stuff!

Sorry don't have full results as yet. Hopefully will get to talk to mum when she gets home tonight.

Just tidying up the CC paperwork away from the Royal. I knew Clover was close to her 100 but as she's under 12 months of age, I haven't bothered too much as I can't lodge it yet. Anyway, I added up her points and she's well and truly over 100 points. Now we have to get another 25 points after she turns 1 year old before we can lodge her championship. Guess I'd better enter some shows.

We also won Baby In Show at the RR Show Saturday with our new puppy, Duke at his first show, so we had a pretty good weekend overall.

Congrat's on the RR's win, we have a very special spot in our heart for RR's - my good friend Jocelyn Hansen babysat our whippys when we got married many years ago, I paniked thinking they would eat my precious whippeys, hmmmmm.... the naughty whippey's tormented the RR's by scooting up behind em, barking their heads off & blasting off into the distance, quite hilarious when you visualise it :- " :- " by the time the RR's turned around & figured out it was the slicksters from up North & were worthy of a chase, the whippeys had zipped around the other end :blink:

Interesting story - this was kennel club show but the Agricultural show is to be held at the same grounds tomorrow so all the livestock etc was there today. Just as Mum was ready to go in for her class with Cara, a bull escaped from its tether and came charging through the dog rings - heading straight for Mum and Cara. :unsure: Mum stood, frozen, not quite knowing what to do, and at the last minute the bull swerved and kept careering through the rings, scattering people and dogs everywhere. Cara, bless her brave little heart, only backed off slightly as the bull came towards them. Mum bent down to pick her up and in that instant the danger was past, but Cara's little heart was pumping like there was no tomorrow. The judge asked Mum if she was alright and she said yes but she wasn't so sure about her dog. He said, "Would you like to run her around the ring first before we put her on the table?" and Mum said, "Yes thank you that might be a good idea" - she put Cara on the ground and off they went and Mum said, like the consumate little professional, off Cara went, straight into show mode and never put a foot wrong. :wub: As far as Mum knows no dogs or people were hurt. And she's not sure how or if they caught the bull.
