I think you might be right lynda. Fergus needed just 8 more points before these shows to get his title. So we might just have a new champion on our hands  Fingers crossed

 Well done to all of Barney's pups  Good luck with the last 8 points Fergus :luck:

Wow! I'm surprised I haven't had a phone call from Joel himself to tell me this big news. Excellent!

Helen Weil always liked my Chelsea who was all line bred on Ch Grau Aceo Diamonds.

Finally have time to post a couple of show results - with Lulu being the main priority last week, the rest had just fallen off the list of to do's..

HBKC 12/5/07 - Marilyn Hoy (OZ) Rio CC, Brie CC, BOB & RBOG  putting Miss Brie on 6CC's (2 more to go & Rio on 3)

Marlborough KA: 19/5/07 R Greer - Rio CC & RBOB & POG

Marlborough KA: 20/5/07 S Meredith - Rio CC

So Master Rio at 10.5mths of age is now sitting on 5cc's, today in Wellington he picked up RCC again, knockin at the heels of the big guns (w00t)

Tomorrow Miss Brie is going to have a go at racing, she is a maniac, so hoping she has a fun

Well Done Rio and Brie, nice to see you back Lynda.

Have fun with the racing

Well, the day has come, by beauty queen who is a quick stick in the paddocks at home went to racing (w00t) All I can say is HILARIOUS

Miss Madam Brie's first race was 50mtr sprint - she went against a seasoned racer & had a ball, running I think more towards me than actually chasing the lure - she had a ball

Then came the 230mtrs :b She zoomed off against her competitor then about half way decided to take a chill pill & toddled off a pace even the veteran's would blow away  Got a bit puffed & lost interest :p So the mighty debut was quite ordinary.... I even sat racetrack side for a bit of encouragement - nup, just curled up & went to sleep, occassionally lifting her head just to see what the thundering noise of the racers was  Guess the Beautiful Blonde thought that common racing stuff was just not for her (w00t)

Thankfully the 2 Lulu daughters who are hard out racers held up the flags for Shenace  Isis (Rac ch Shenace Moon Goddess) & Kwik (Rac Ch Shenace Good Golly Miss Molly) both ran their hearts out & ended up dualing each other, hard out Isis who had stripped a pad still ran & was only just beatn by her half sister, was awesome to watch

Master Rio picked up another RCC today along with Puppy Of Group under Beth Warman

Sounds like the day was a Blast :D , it's lovely to watch whippets in full flight.

We were invited to a Demo race put on by the Greyhound Racing Club here a few years ago, put Cochise, Whisper and Secret in who had never raced before, they took to it like ducks to water, Cochise even got in the final - took off brilliantly and was half way down the track when he decided to slow down and wait for his fellow competitors, let them pass and then caught up to them at the finish, have it on video, quite funny to watch.

 Congratulations with Rio's latest accomplishments, and hope your feeling a little bit better.

Just a little brag...

Oakway Party Hero "Barney" had his first shows this weekend. Barney was awarded Baby in group under Mr R Baker (SA) at Sarina Kennel Club 27 May 2007. Thanks for letting me share our little brag.

WTG Cassie and Barney..... any pic's

Well done Cass - will take some pics of him next weekend for you if you like.

Funny Brie story Lynda! I had a similar experience with my whippets once at a racetrack. Bobby chased the bunny hard all the way round, so did the other old girl who belonged to someone else but she knew her way around the race track. Kellie chased Bobby. Allie chased Kelly. Allie got as far as the finish post (3/4 of the whole track) and was so taken with the pretty lights that she sat down to have a look. When I called her, instead of keeping on coming the 1/4 of the track she had to go ... she turned around and cantered on back the way she had gone!
