Does it get any easier?
My beautiful 19 year old Lhasa apso, Jay Jay, was put to sleep yesterday. My heart is broken, I’ve never experienced pain like it, I don’t want to eat or sleep, I don’t want to be at home but I don’t want to go anywhere. I’m so lost without him, I can’t get my head around the fact that he’s never coming home.

So, so sorry for your loss of Jay Jay, a heartbreaking time... thinking of you x

So sorry for your loss :-(

The pain does fade @Amie and you’ll start to talk and think about the good times you had together.

Time goes so quickly it’s scary. Will be a year in July that we lost Dennis. I still find it hard to watch videos of him and look at photos but I do think of him everyday and the great times we had

The thought of me never seeing him again just makes me feel sick to my stomach. I’ve never felt grief like it, I feel so anxious and overwhelmed. He was the best dog ever. So sorry for your loss of Dennis, I’m so grateful for finding this page. I felt like I was going insane with grief xxx

We lost our 5 dogs within 15 months the last being Tom last Tuesday....it seems surreal ....
Although we have the 2 deerhound puppies our home feels so empty ...after having 5 dogs and foster dogs for over 15 years having 2 seems very strange

I'd forgotten about this thread too. We lost Jasper back in April but it still hurts so much. My heart goes out to everyone who has gone through the same xx

That's such a lovely poem @Tinytom, brought a lump to my throat... and I can only echo @JudyN, my heart also goes out to all xxx

I was just getting distracted looking through old photos and came across my Jake folder. It's been 4 years now since saying goodbye to him, where does the time go...

One photo is from our last big walk at the Rotherlands, having a rest before the slow walk back to the van.

The other one I love as it is him with one of my old boarders, she was a working lab about the same age as Jake and they had such a lovely relationship, really comfortable. She went the year before Jake sadly, but this pic always makes me smile. She was a beautiful dog, remembering Jake and Izzy...
Just added one more from his younger days!

Four years, already - where does the time go?

It was my daughter's birthday recently and one of her lovely friends made her this little felt Iggy. We both had to reach for a tissue when we saw it... remembering our beautiful boy...
