Hello my friends. I want to be forgiven for my absence..... :(

Just had a weird few months with work and needed to get my head down. THings are 'a changing' here and our internet access was restricted and monitored. On top of that my home PC was out of action so I was unable to get on much.

So how are you all my friends?

My boy is doing sooooo well. Im incredibly proud of him and his ability to cope on 3 legs (I will get some new pictures on here soon). He is bounding around like a puppy and is still as sweet as he ever was.

I have had a few incidents with him that have caused me to both laugh and cry at times but I think we are starting to get out of the woods now. He is almost in his 5th month of being a 'tripod' dog and the fur is almost grown back.

I hope that life has been kind to you all and that your four legged (or 3 legged) friends are all well and enjoying life.

Thank you for forgiving me (I know you will :p )

Look forward to chatting to you all again.

Lots of love

Sarah and her 3 legged friend

x

So lovely to hear from you again sarah :huggles: Glad Arnie is doing so well :)

It's amazing how well they cope on 3 legs isn't it ;) we were so proud of our late whippet Jesse  who as no doubt you remember coped so well with just 3 legs :huggles:

Our new whippet Star  is now almost 10 months old and we are getting a playmate  for him in about 4 weeks time as she is only 4 weeks old today, we are gonna call her Skye  and I can't wait (w00t)

Look forward to seeing some pics of Arnie

Take care, Sonia and Star xXx

Thanks Hula...luckily our absence was nothing to worry about, just a combination of things that prevented me from posting. Im hoping that I can get back online more at work now the whole 'internet debate' has calmed down!

Sonia, she is adorable! OH my, you must be sooo excited. She is so pretty and such a beautiful colour. Give Star (and Skye when you get her) a huge hug from us

good to see you back sarah im glad arnie is doing well bless him

I was thinking about Arnie just the other day and wondering how he was doing.

Great to hear things are so good.

Hi Affie, I tried to PM you but your box is full! :)

Enid, thanks for the thoughts. He is doing marvellously. Infact he is often seen running up the garden chasing foxes (sometimes he ends up on his chin but he just gets up and keeps on going!)

How lovely to hear from you and Arnie again

About bloomin' time!

Trouble with work is that they just don't understand how important your internet fix (and K9 support network) is to your wellbeing :- :teehee:

Looking forward to the new pictures, hun :D

I wondered where you had got to!! I worry about the time I spend on K9 at work, they do say internet access is monitored, but I seem to be getting away with it up to now. If I got sacked I could spend more time on here anyway

Glad Arnie is doing so well, when you look back at all the worry it caused you, I'll bet you never thought he would cope so well. Did you ever get the results back after?

Nice to have you back with us, stick around now :D

glad Arnie is doing well and you're back in the land of K9 !

all you lucky people able to go online in work, we don't really have the time but anyway it's just a complete no no, even in your dinner break and after hours, defo not allowed.

Hello sarah and arnie, well im not gonna forgive you, how can you just disappear and not updated us with news of scrumptious arnie :p

Glad all is well with you all and its nice to see you back really

lots of love

Debbie and hannah xx

Thanks for all the replies guys...so nice to be welcomed back after being so naughty! :p

June, yes we did get the results back. The tumour originated from a cell wall (not in the bone), the lymph nodes were clear which indicates that the tumour was completely removed by removing the leg. The tumour was confined to the leg and even though it had completely taken hold in the majority of the leg (indicating he had had it there for a while) it was slow growing (thank God). The vet is happy that the tumour has been completely removed and he is now classed as a healthy 10 year old dog! :D

At the time I didn't think any of us could get through it. I will say again though that the words of support that I received from everyone on here really helped me. Sonia for one shared her story with me (and I know it broke her heart to relive it again) and it really gave me the strength to carry on. And the others (jinnyfizz, Affieluver, June, Debbie, Trac, Hula (Hula's daughter) thank you all so very much. I will never forget how kind you all were to me.

For anyone else reading this who has to consider amputation, the first two weeks are the worst...after that you have to deal with the guilt of making such a decision when you see your little one fall time and time again. But the determination of your baby shines through. They fall and they get up and they try again. We could all learn a lot from their determination. Not once has Arnie given up...not even when he's got a mouth full of grass or landed in a heap on the floor after trying to get off the couch....he just gets up, shakes himself off (yes, he has learnt to shake again!) and carries on. He can also pee on 2 legs! Its quite something to watch. I am a proud woman :)

As for work, yes they do get in the way of my personal life! At least I wasn't the one with high 'Twitter' usage! I could at least explain my K9 surfing as a support network.

So with all that said, Im now off to go and do some work (well, maybe make a coffee first!). I will post some Arnie pics soon.

Have a great day everyone.

OH TRAC! He is just so adorable! I am so jealous of you all getting new pups! I WANT ONE! But before you all start getting excited and sending me links to pups (Jinnyfizz!!!!!) I am not going to get one right now because my boy is still on the mend.
