What a lovely tribute to your little dog. You must have many happy memories, think of those and time will heal.

Aww , your lovely tribute made me cry . She was such a special little girl . I love the pics of her eating the icecream .

Well Nicky you managed to make me cry. My heart goes out to you.

Nicky, thank you for bringing Poppy into all our lives, sweet precious girl, don't worry my dad will be taking care of her for you.

Thats a beautiful tribute nicky .

poppy touched mine and many more hearts in her life .

Nicky, look at her face. She looks like a "proper" Whippie. Loved, pampered and spoilt and expecting that as her due. She bears no resemblance at all to the "other" Poppy, who looked worried and scared. YOU did that for her, bless you for that. It does sound trite but time really does heal. Its a measure of your love for her that you are hurting so much at the moment. Hugs, Juley

Time helps. I struggle to cope with loosing my beloved Peat and it has been 5 months. I just try and remember all the special funny times we had together and not the ending. Old Foxy has not recovered from the loss of her son. She has gone downhill ever since he left us. He used to lick then suck her ears and was always beside her. She is a different girl. All the sparkle has gone and her health is failing rapidly:(

Taking on Toddy the menace and giving him the time and effort required to turn hm around has helped me a lot. At the time he came to us, I thought it was far too soon but on reflection dealing with the issues he had, and giving him the help he needed stopped me dwelling on loosing Peat so tragically. He looks so like Peat and sometimes behaves like him too but that may just be because he is only my second dog and whippet boys are different from girls.

It is obvious that you shared something special with Poppy and that makes it so hard. We can never replace the ones we love but we always have the beautiful memories. :flowers: :huggles:

Awww what a lovely heartfelt tribute Nicky. I cried too whilst reading it :( She will always have a very special place in your heart and that special bond will never leave you :huggles:

Nicky, that first picture is so beautiful.

Poppy looks happy and, above all else, free to be a whippet!!

Bless you for giving her that wonderful life xxxxxx

Thats so lovely.......... :huggles:

oh nicky , your love and pain comes though xxxxx

a lovely tribute to both of you and what a special time you both had xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

she ceratinly was special but you knew that what a lovely tribute gone but never to be forgotten xx :huggles: :huggles:

I have read all the previous posts and know that you rescued Poppy from awful circumstances but how old was she and did she have underlying health problems? I hope you don't mind me asking but she didn't look like an elderly girl. It's all very sad but a lovely tribute to an obviously much-loved and beautiful whippy.

What fabulous photos of her - she was such a pretty little girl.

Treasure all those wonderful memories of her and slowly it will hurt less.

Such a lovely tribute to a lovely girl Nicky :huggles: :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

you made up in the short time you had her for all the bad times she had, she looks very happy and loved, she was a credit to you and i'm very sorry for your loss :huggles:

Those photos just show how happy she was with you, always remember the good times. What others have said is true, Poppy touched all our hearts through your stories and photos on this forum. I rescued Lucy just after Poppy came into your life. Lucy and I have you and Poppy to thank for that, as your story inspired me to go get her. I hope Poppys story inspires many more people to rescue a dog that needs help, there are so many more out there just like little Poppy. We will never forget you Poppy, sleep tight x x
