Poor Izzy :huggles:

The dog may have been friendly and this was the first time it had ever bitten. (got to be a first time for everything) Perhaps the dog got jeaulos (ive seen that a lot) of your dog whipping around.

Either way, the owners need to be aware that their dog has done this and pay some if not all of the vets fees, hopefully their dog was insured.

Hope Izzy is up and well soon, its not nice when your dog gets bit, it has happend to me too :(

Thanks guys, I am going to report it (I hadn't) to the warden and local community police.  It could do it again, and for all I know have done it before?
It should be on a lead and muzzled.

We don't know who the people are as John had Izzy out on his own, he just scooped her up and ran back to the car to get her to the vets asap when it happened.

We are now looking for them as they need to know what their dog did, and I agree they should pay the bill, or at least offer!

Im so sorry to read this about Izzy, and hope she makes a full recover with no after effects.. :luck: :luck: :huggles:

Yes get them to pay up...

I'm sure that once they realise what their dog has done they will make an offer towards the vet bill :)) :luck:

Im really sorry to hear that, we have had a similar situation with an alsation but not as bad as whats happened to your little one.

When Penny was alot younger probably about 6 months or so she was out a walk with my dog, and just as they turned the corner, an alsation went for her and she let out a yelp, luckily it never got through the skin but it had got some of her fur out, all the guy done was mumble that he never normally saw people on that path

The second time my dad sometimes takes her up the woods near us in the morning and he passed someone with an alsation every day and it never bothered her, and she never bothered it, she knows what dogs want to play and those that dont, but they sometimes just had a sniff and walked on, one day it just turned on her for no reason, so she just ran off, shes not a fighter at all, a minute later my dad heard her barking in the distance, it was like she was shouting on him as she never barks when out, when he gave a whistle she came running back, I think that was when she stopped liking them altogether. as another time 2 came out of nowhere and started head butting her.

Its really strange that all bad experiences she has had are with alsations, as she is a very friendly dog and gets on with everyone, she loves nothing more than running around playing. I know not all are bad, but because of this it has left me a bit wary, and Penny. When I was in the park there was a friendly one there with one of the other regular dogs she loves to play with, but because of the alsation she wouldn’t play, she didn’t leave my side much and was quite nervous looking when it was sniffing her,

Oooops, a bit of a rant there.

Im really sorry to hear about your dog, I hope her leg feels better soon.
