Took the lads out this afternoon and saw some of their lurcher friends....

unfortunately Archie tried to run away from one of them... like a mad thing and jumped clean over a fence....with bloody barbed wire on the top.

Anyway poor lad has just got back from our vets, I waited while they stapled him....its in a really awkward place on the top of his front leg where it bends... :(

He was really good at the vets and is sleeping now...

Here is a picture of the stapled wound....I just hope it stays put till Tuesday which is when I have to take him back...what do you think??

:(

No he didnt Trish..it took about 5 minutes, the vet said he would try to avoid stitching.

It is only the skin that had peeled back, no deeper.

Poor Archie :( ......Inca had stitches in the same area as Archie ......They healed quickly, but for about a week or so after the stitches had come out if she ran about too much the skin started to slightly split, so just keep an eye on it ;) :huggles: to the brave Archie who's going to look well 'ard wivva a scar 8)

Oh bless him,i'm sure it'll heal up quickly :huggles: ,get the lavender oil on it

Murph decided to jump a fence the other day with barbed wire on top......he was very lucky to get away with just a 6" surface scratch & bruising.

I wish barbed wire could be banned

Hope he heals up really quickly

My Alfie (Collie) did that once but he caught a part of himself that only a boy can catch  He healed up with no intervention - but he was barking soprano for a while

Poor Archie :( thats the exact spot Sienna got her wound she had 7 stitches but they didnt knit it together so she had staples and they did

All gone now you can't even really see where it was, your're right though its a very awkward place

Im pleased to hear about that Lesley, good to know it healed well with the staples in. I did wonder when I looked at it ... (w00t) but the vet did say stitches may pull more and cause more swelling ....hence the staples.
