Badger is booked in to see the vets tomorrow evening but it looks like he has a nasty Mast Cell Tumour on his hock.

He has been inexplicably vomitty the last three weeks and he has a swelling on his hock which has now developed a crater in it and his lymph node on that leg is swollen.

Please keep fingers crossed for him as it's his 13th birthday tomorrow. :(

Sorry to hear that, I do hope he is OK.

Bless him, I do hope it is something they can deal with. Let us know what happens, won't you? :huggles:

Oh god, so sorry to hear that. Wishing you all loads of luck.

I hope everything goes well for Badger at the vets and happy 13th birthday to him :huggles:

Thanks for the good wishes, Badger has to take a course of antibiotics first as he has some skin infection around his lump, then he is going in next week to have the lump removed and sent away to analyse what grade of tumour it is.

I'm off to Tesco's in a minute to get a box of Mr Kipling cakes, we always have cakes on the dogs birthdays, they get one each.

Hi just thought I'd update you all...Badger is having surgery next Friday to remove the lump from his hock and its being sent off for histo to check what it is.

Also just as a footnote  little Beanieman James the beagle is going in to be castrated, have his eyes looked at( entropion) and to have his last baby tooth removed cos it won't come out on its own.

i'm working at the vets that day so atleast I get to see both my babies operated on and get some input there and then regarding anything that gets done to them.

wish them luck, I'm actually a little daunted this time around even for the castrate which is just routine but it's been a while since we had a baby dog in the house and I've forgotten what it's like to have them operated on

Although James is only five and a half months he has been humping everything in sight including my mum and dad so it has to be done

Good luck to them both, hope everything goes smoothly. I don't think I could cope with watching someone take a scalpel to any of mine, you are very brave!
