Blue Rushed To Vets

:( out on our walk today blue got kicked in the face by a shire horse rushed him to vets ,hes home but needs to be watched he has a lot of bruising around his eye and his one side of his face is swollan ,hes been given pain reliefe and drops for his eyes and needs to go back tomoz to see if he has any fractures :( frightened the bloody life outa me ,hes really good around live stock as are all my dogs but was walking past one and decided he would have a sniff and pow it all happened so quick i didnt even have time to call him to move on ,so wev gota be very vigilant for the next 24hrs for any change in his behavour as its a head wound and chances are hes fractured a bone in his face somwere :( i think the shock of it is just setting in as i duno were i got the strenth from to carry him from the feeled to the car as hes a big dog but i managed to get him ther pretty quick :sweating:

omg nicky ive got everything srossed hes going to be fine :huggles: isnt it just too easy how accidents happen :( glad you managed by yourself with carrying him i knlow i couldnt have done it with kiplin last week i was on my knees almost :(

hope he gets some rest and isnt too shocked,and lets hope they wont be anything else he needs doing ,just pain relief :huggles:

Well done for keeping your head and not panicing

Get your feet up and a cup of tea and look after him onthe sofa

Oh Nicky that sounds really bad :( Hope Blue hasnt any fractures and it is just bruising . What a worry for you :( you must had been in a right state :sweating:

Hope he starts to feel better soon give him lots of tlc :huggles:

duno about the not panicking bit i was nearly sick once i got him in the car and tia and ollie were little angels i couldnt even put them on ther leads ,but they never left my side :huggles: iv never heard a dog cry out in pain like that before i was terrified ,hes all cwtched up on the sofa at the moe with his furry blanket :huggles: im so worried about him ,he my first baby and id be deverstated if anything was to happen to him :(
 
Everything crossed for you Nicky :huggles: you did very well to get him to the vets on your own and once the pain killersstart to work he will feel a little better I'm sure :thumbsup: Sidney and George send him lots of waggy tails :huggles:

I'm sure if the vet had been really concerned he wouldn't have let you bring him home - he's tough he'll get through and probably keep away from horses too :huggles:

thanks everyone for all your post and pms ,it helps when ya know people know what your going throu ,hes seems a bit brighter now iv just taken him for a drink and the swelling in his face seems to have stopped so it doesnt look to bad now just the bruising around his eye ,just need to keep close watch on him for 24hrs will give you all update tomoz once wer back from vets :)
 
So sorry to hear this Nicky, have you given him Arnica? It really helps with bruising. Hopefully he will be feeling a bit better now the painkillers have started to work. :huggles:

were can i get this from juley :) what is it, is it to rub in the bruised area ?

aah, Poor Blue. What a scary thing to happen. He is in the best place with his Mum at home for lots of TLC. I hope he recovers without any problems. :huggles: for you both.
