I had Kaya chipped when she was roughly 10 weeks, she's now

just on 19 weeks............should her papers have been back by

now?

Im sure i never waited this long for Sada's. Im getting a bit concerned

now........its no good her being chipped and no record of who her owns

her.

Don't worry Ann, I've mailed off her chipping docs.. you should be hearing from them soon enough.

I'll give them a ring on Monday for you..

I received Honeys back 3 weeks after she had it done. Did the vet give you a copy of the microchip details and who it was with? Maybe worth trying to chase it if you haven't already done it.

Sorry replied before i read the topic. Dint realise Tracey had chipped her for you.

:) Hopefully i will hear something soon

when i ad mine chipped i got a barcode from the vet that did the chipping, but never heard from the company as we use to,i phoned the vets about it and they told me not to worry as the company as the details

just had oliver chipped last night and my did he bleed  :huggles:

When i had Sada done last at the start of this year i had papers come

through from them so i was expecting the same for Kaya.

I hope i do hear from them, there's less chance of me losing that little

folder thing they send than losing just a barcode

Kaya was a bleeder as well and she cried, i think it varies from dog to

dog..........Sada didnt flinch or bleed........ i was the wimp, they asked

if i wanted her taken away and done in case she cried and i said yes :b

i stayed with oliver and boy did he scream :( :huggles: ,but he was fine within seconds when he got a treat  :p

the chips yours got ann was they the bio thermal ones, they read the dogs temp too???

ive got a letter for phoebe and millie with the details of the chip and personal details but never got anything with any of the boys,so think that company doesnt send them out anymore

I had Scrumpy chipped on Monday papers came back yesterday (w00t) now thats service :D

Had Polly at the vet yesterday for routine annual check, vaccinations etc and he checked her chip, which was put in when she was 4 months old. She is now over 5 and a half. The chip had slipped right round and down a leg and was hard to find - apparently common in 'long dogs', according to the vet.

I am concerned that if she is lost, a brief scan across her shoulders would come up negative. Any suggestions whether I can massage it back (if I can feel it) or should I get her rechipped.

I know I should have asked at the time, but was a bit gobsmacked (w00t)

When I had Georgie chipped I did not receive any papers for 3 months so I rang the company and they resent them out to me. He did not bleed or flinch so it does vary from dog to dog. Never heard them moving has much as Polly's though!

Not sure if you can feel it as it is like a grain of rice or smaller best ask your vet!!

Trish they both have just regular chips :))

Thats a long way for a chip to travel............hopefully someone will

be able to advise you if you need to get Polly done again

I was going to have Ruby chipped when she had her vaccs but when the vet's receptionist said how much it mught hurt I put it off until she is older. She is a bit shy so didn't want to upset her. I really don't know whether to have her done or not now.

I have had engraved on the back of my dogs tags 'microchipped' so that if they moved hopefully they would scan the whole dog

I dont think i would consider not getting an animal chipped ... all mine are done. In worst case scenarios it proves ownership as well as helping to bring them home.

Janet I was told it is possible for microchips to migrate....and they should scan the whole dog.

The dogs trust did my two, Archie is still yet to be done...hopefully soon, but they did check the vets that usually scan them. Apparently it seomtimes depends on the type of chip the vet told me, as to wether they move or not ....not to do with the breed of dog.
