might sound a strange question i know,

but at the moment ruby and star have the same colour of puppy leads and the same colour collars, but my mum said they should be different? (they do have different coats though)

i kind of like things that are the same but different, say the same patteren but a different colour on each but i can have a hard trouble deciding who gets what, so its easier just to do them both the same :b

i just wondered what everyone else does,

and if you do, buy different ones, how do you pick who it is for?

Absoloutely I do - When I had 5 dogs that I walked together I did it so I knew who was pulling by looking at the leads in my hand

Bluebell has everything red

Daisy has everything purple

Alfie has green

makes a pretty maypole effect when they all get tangled up

What a lovely idea. Pax has a black and purple lead and Zulu has black and green. I was thinking of getting them coordinating coats for winter.

I try and match coats to collars but not so much the dogs, one is a blue bitch the other a fawn and white parti dog and different things suit them :D

Oh yes everything has to match or co-ordinate

I used to buy the girls exactly the same but now i buy

then different that way i get more colours/patterns/types.

And of course now i have more scope as i have a boy

as well

Mine are colour co-ordinated, sort of. Niamh and Daisy have 2 sets of matching collars and 1 set has a matching lead and coupler. Their leather walking collars are different though - Niamh has pale pink and Daisy has strong pink.

well i have only have the one, but i make sure her collar and coats always match

i have no problem as what suits one of my dogs doesnt suit the other in time you will find they have different personalities so it should make it a bit easier also you may realise that what you have looks better on ruby than star i wouldnt worry too much as to who gets what as i dont think they will really mind

lol im not really stress just wondered what every one else does lol

been looking at collars to buy and have found some on ebay that come in like 10different colours so dont know what to choose :huggles:

That's one of the great things about whippets imo choosing different things for them, I browse the web and market place on here and sometimes things just choose themselves (w00t) .

Phoebs is quite difficult to buy for as she is a strong red brindle and pretty colours and patterns clash :( also some browns don't suit but she looks best in classic black and I have a collar with sparkly stones 8) .

I reckon Skye will suit more colours with her paler colouring :)) . As for your two as they will grow out of everything you are buying at the moment (except leads i suppose) I wouldn't worry about what looks best on who too much and just experiment with different colours 8) . They can also share so you could swap things between them :))

Does it really matter? Mine have the collars I bought them when they needed and adult one, Peckers is black with silver studs, Dylans is red with a gold pattern, Poppies is black with a red poppy on it, Bess the greyhound has a black one with silver and gold moon and stars, Pyes is purple with a celtic design in silver. show leads, Bess and Pye share the same dark blue leather lead, Dylan cream, the rest are retired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lead, any old thing!!!!!!!!!!, so long as it is safe!!

You are all making me feel like a bad whippet mum. My two have one collar and one lead each, which don't even match each other, a show lead and a posh collar their granny Debs gave them for Christmas. They wear the same collar until it's embarrassingly tatty and then I buy them a new one off e-bay.

or you could do what me and nicky do katie and buy 100's (w00t) then you will have just what you are looking for

Except in my case it takes 20mins to decide what they are wearing before we go walking (w00t)

I can dress mine in the same because they are quite different colours. As yours are quite similar, Katie, you might be better dressing them differently so you can yell at the right one! :D

At the end of the day, 1 coat, collar and lead are all that's needed, but how boring is that? You do what you want to and what your pocket (and other half!) will allow.

Its funny because I hate coloured leads... :- "

I have 3 strong leather ones,....and prefer leather collars when they are older of course... but each to their own... I tend to stick with blue and black and tan.

All my boys have black coats now..although I have a couple of spares...a blue and a red one...
