No, not another whippie! Much as I've been tempted a fair few times over the last 2 years, especially by rescues, Deeds remains an only dog and the centre of the universe - just as she likes it!

However, she did consent to a cat-brother... so how could I resist! :D

Mum! What's THAT?? You got me a brother!!!!

Spike is 12 weeks old, only been home since Wednesday, and as you can see it's been hard work to try and stop DeeDee the Kitten-Killer savaging him to bits

Who says whippies and kitties cant be friends!

I hope so :)

Unfortunately, Saffy, died a couple of months ago. It was all rather sudden, she was diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer, and within a week, Ben (my ex) had to make the decision to put her to sleep. She'd stayed in Wales with him when DeeDee and I moved, as tough as it was, and much as Deeds and I missed her, she was happiest there with her Daddy in the house she knew. Cats just dont adapt as well as dogs.

You'll know Deeds has always been around cats from when she was bred by Debs, but Saffy never let her cuddle up properly - so she seems really pleased to have a little furry cat-blanket to keep her warm! :D

awwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

aww they look so cute together, best friends already

Could I use that last picture as a resourse at school please to illustrate friendship in assembly?

AWWWWWWWWWWwwwwwwwwwww how gorgeous is that wee kitten

Neil and I both love cats as much as dogs and I would LOVE to bring home a kitten or two but after seeing how swiftly Diva dispatches rabbits I think I'd be VERY nervous about bringing even a full-grown cat home. :(

As I was saying to Neil only last night, either Diva would kill it in seconds (in which case I would NEVER forgive myself :( ) or she would get all broody and mother it :huggles:

I think we need to put the cat idea on hold for now and get Missus trained up a lot more so we have as much control as possible over her and then, if we did decide to try a cat, it would be introduced slowly and carefully over a matter of weeks!

If not we'll just have to put our longing for a cat on hold for another 10+ years until Diva is just a fond memory :b But if that's what it takes then so be it ;)

Awwww how cute is that kitty!

Gorgeous pictures......

I want a kitten for christmas!

Awwww, those pics are beautiful. How lovely that they are such good friends already. We've been catless for the first time in 27 years since Katie died last May and I'd so like to get a kitten (or 2). Your photos give me hope that it would work as although we've introduced 3 whippets to cats successfully, we've never done it the other way around.
