Is it Hygenic to Sleep with a Dog IN the bed

What do you think and Why ?

And yes I said IN and not ON

I think it must be unhygienic  I 'd still let my whips sleep in my bed though :huggles:

They sleep in bed - I don't think what they bring in is any worse than what we might bring in on our feet (though we go barefoot around here a lot)

I carnt see them being any more unhiygenic than men and we let them sleep in our beds and personaly give me a whiipet anytime at lest they dont snore or lift the covers if they fart lol

  LOL

I'd have to say un-hygienic- have you seen how much rubbish they leave on the sheets, but then how can you not let them  .

Ours get let up into bed on weekend mornings, and woe betide any vistors who din't shut the spare room door well enough- not everyone likes being woken by a wet nose burrowing under the sheet next to them.

I'd say unhygenic.. not that it would bother me :- " Alfie doesn't sleep in my bed because I could growl and bite him in the night for disturbing me (w00t)

 What a funny poll! 100% for original thinking

IMO dog is no more unhygienic than human - in fact having worked in hospitals looking after all kinds of humanity for many years, I think whippets are much cleaner than a lot of humans!!

Yes Id say Un-hygenic too - but why do I still let him in ?- dont ask me.

No way is it unhygienic - when I think about the amount of cow poo that gets into my mouth on an average day ... :x , AND then I kiss the dogs sometimes when I get home, if they give me superwaggy tails ... :x ... and Maisie sometimes licks me before I realise she's been eating cat poo again ... :x

Dogs IN bed is NOTHING! (w00t)

I don't think it is unhygenic for a dog to sleep in the bed. Uncomfortable - especially when a long leg ends up in your ear :D - Sid doesn't sleep in the bed - my two previous IGs did and I can say that for years I didn't really get a good nights sleep, -_- Sid sneaks in in the mornings for a cuddle which I love :huggles:

Jilly wants a poll started to see if its hygenic to let humans into her bed as she's convinced the bed is hers.

and she's got to sleep with her head on the pillow in between me and Malc. :huggles:

I think it is a bit unhygenic but I allow Alfie jrt and Annie whippet sleep in our bed. They always have a crazy few minutes on the bed before they settle down for the night, once they have jostled for bed positions they hardly stir till morning.

Changing sheets and duvets at least twice a week, is extra work that I could do without though.

Space is the problem for me, a double bed just aint big enough for the 4 of us. (w00t)

Well, I think it depends on how often the sheets are changed. But a bit of sand and chewed up twig have not harmed anybody to my knowledge.

I do not think it is particularly unhygienic just more work.

I change the sheets a couple of times a week, so it doesn';t bother us, besides whippies are cleaner than heaps of humans.

They think its their bed anyway.

Corrr, I'm so envious of that super king

Would love kingsize never mind super kingsize

Whips look so snugglely on their new bed

it doesn't matter how large the bed is because the dogs will snuggle up to you and put their necks over you and you will not be able to move

Perhaps we should be asking if it is unhygenic for the whippets? Mine have never caught anything from me, I hope.
