I thought it might be easier to spot if this was a new thread  :)
Donations are needed for 2 whippets being advertised for sale as a "breeding pair", the bitch being in full season at the this very moment.

Whippet Rescue are more than happy to help with transportation & re-homing so if anyone would like to donate to get these two in to a safe loving home, please either post on here or pm me.

Thanks in advance & to those have replied already on the other thread  :huggles:

thanks everyone for your donations so far  :huggles:

this has now fallen through at my end so im now out of the picture :(

reasons will become clear in time , good luck :luck:

Right I'll stick my neck out on this one. ;)

Seems facts have got a little misconstrued here and no-ones to blame either.

The dogs to my knowledge are not a 'breeding pair' the dogs were advertised as such by a naive daughter of the owner who thought the pair would be seen more appealing as a 'pair' and didn't perceive the potential hazard of what she had said.

The owner is paying a vested interest in the re-homing of these 2 dogs, she wishes to be updated regularly on their new home and will be doing a home check on any potential owners.

The owner has been educated on the hazard of what was advertised and is now quite distressed and anxious about any interest they attract (remember she is essentially a pet owner, not a dog breeder) she has been informed as best as possible about choosing appropiate owners and will hopefully take this knowledge into any judgements she makes.

I wish the owner the best of luck in finding an appropiate home for her 2 dogs where they can stay together as forever friends like the owner intended. :luck:

Think this has been a good example for all of us of why you should look, before you leap.

hope everything works out for these 2 :luck:

I'm sorry but i beg to differ here. :(

Here is the original ad:

Description

Breeding pair of whippets.

Male, fawn/brindle, 3 years old and his female partner grey/white, 2 1/2 years old. (Currently in season, ready for breeding now). Both dogs are fully vaccinated and wormed.

Excellent temperaments, great with children and adults, indoors and out. Have been raised in a family home and are used to cats, birds and other dogs.

A very affectionate and lively female and more docile male, looking for a special new home, together, due to domestic circumstances.

Does this seem like a caring pet owner looking for a loving home

Regarding the "naive daughter" this must be the same daughter who i was told regularly breeds litters of Dalmations too :- "

They also have a breeding pair of poms along with the whippets & the dalmations

I'm sorry but the "caring owner" certainly did not pull the wool over my eyes.

Such a shame really as there were some lovely homes available through rescue BUT now i guess they take their chances on the open market as a "breeding pair"

Thank you everyone who did at least try their best to help, i know so many of you wanted a happy & safe outcome for these two

i know pet people wouldnt think that wording it like that would attract the wrong people.i was chatting to 2 girls today who have worked in a shop opposite mine for years they both have dogs.when we were chatting i happened to mention a well known puppy supermarket in the conversation and i explained to them that it was a place where puppy farmers sold their 'goods' to.they then said they had both bought their dogs from this place.they HAD NO IDEA WHATSOEVER that this place didnt breed the dogs on the premises and that they were helping rather than hindering the cruelty known as puppy farming.ive sent them links to some sites to see how these dogs live in sheds locked up for 24 hours a day just being used as a breeding machine.i think this lady would probably be horrified to think that her pets would be used as a breeding machine and tbh i dont think it entered her head when this advert(which is badly worded) was put on.i know she wants to meet the person who takes her dogs and she wants to go to their home and make sure with PROLONGED CONTACT that her dogs are being looked after.me personally if you want to donate money to help save some dogs i dont think this is the way to do it as i dont think these dogs are in any danger.they are house pets and are being well looked after.theyre not being starved or beaten.i hope they find a forever home where they are loved and looked after :luck:

To be fair, I think those who have offered donations have done so with the best interests of these two dogs at heart. With limited information, i.e the said advert, then anybody reading it could only draw the worst conclusions, and, as such the worst possible outcome for these two dogs. We are all supposed to be dog lovers here, I don't have the depth of information on this situation that others obviously have but hell, sorry if I upset anyone but that advert was always going to attract the wrong sort of people. I just hope and pray that these dogs end up in responsible hands.
