OMG jane that must be the worst clipping i have ever seen

we used to shave a lots of gsd's in this weather, much better for them

i think you need to practice more with them

from a dog groomeer :p

I must admit that I didn't realise you'd used sheep shearers...I didn't read your original post properly. In that case...not a bad job really :teehee: . Will the coat grow grow back the same as before? I bet she's a lot happier today too. What a scorcher it is :sweating: Stanley would run a mile if he saw me advancing with a pair of sheep shearers. Lol, Debbie

I do a perfect job on the horse, but this was a quick zoom over for Abbie ........ I didn't have anyone to hold her so I was following her around the utility room clipping what I could when I could!!! :clown: :clown:

Do you know, it's just started to rain here!!! Can't believe it - after clipping her out yesterday too

Lots of farmers around here clip their working collies to help them in the heat. The coats always grow back with no problem when the dogs moult and the new coat grows as normal  The old coat continues to grow too so Abbie should look fluffier again very soon :)

The main thing she lovely and cool :sweating: not a bad job you done there Jane :D

dont listen to the moaning old minnies jane she must feel a hundred times better in this heat it will soon grow back :)

aww bless her i think youve done a cracking job jane she looks so much cooler :D

My GSDs have requested you don't come to wales  - well not if you have sheep shears anyways!!! :clown: They have a swim in the sea then a dip in a nice cool pool and then a play with the hose and dry off in the sun or in the house with a cooling fan basking over their bodies! :D Although one of our customers shaves her gsd each year, she sort of has to as she did it once and now her girls coat grows back thicker than ever before - ooops :(

Maybe Abbie will think she's a whippet now??

I used to walk with a white GSD who was clipped in the summer, she was loadds happier and it always grew back in the winter.

Not a hot dog, a cool dog ... who knows, maybe you'll start a trend :p

It had passed me by that you had GSD's as well ... how many dogs have you got altogether Jane?

Sounds like a full time job without the full time job lol.

Well done

It cannot have been easy. I am sure she will be much happier in herself.

Wow...it takes me all my time (apart from the time spent out walking and K9 gazing) to keep a tiny terraced two up, two down house with no real gardens to speak of, 2 dogs and 2 cavies in order, with a semi parttime job. That's what you get for marrying a tidy freak of a husband who isn't a great animal lover, and hates gardening and DIY (but he isn't lazy by any stretch of the imagination). I wonder if the smaller the space you have, the more time you spend keeping it tidy and clutter free (well that's my theory and I'm sticking to it :p ) ...not to mention having to walk the dogs 3 x a day to keep them aired and happy ('cos of lack of gardens)?

Good luck with your new addition Jane. Can't wait to see the photos. :) I do envy you.

I think she looks lovely Jayne, we used to clip Tie our collie cross in the hot weather (when she was alive) and she loved it, so did I as there was less hair to sweep up. Its like having 2 different dogs, and you can finally see what the body looks like without all the coat in the way.

But, its YOUR fault its raining now is it

Oh Jane

Showed IZZY the pics and she is trembling in the corner!!!! :p

She looks so much better and will feel so cool 8)

She certainly will be a lot more comfortable in this heat :- I used to have a Long haired GSD and he was black and tan and he would roast in this weather, but he was a bit stupid, he used to go and sit where the sun was :-

At least you have left the tail and the ears with a bit fluff :teehee:

Jane if Clair keeps making a fuss.......give her a number two as well

 .......... I thought Daisy could do with a short back and sides :-

Oh yes even better
Oi Ann, Shut it!!!

and Jane, you can do me if you like, but you won't touch a hair on Daisy's head, body, legs or anywhere else on her!!!
pmsl your choice of words clair ,think you should rephase what you have put :D

im dead :p
