Last night I awoke to an almighty crash and jumped out of bed to see what on earth had happened (w00t)

We have put a stair gate at the top of the stairs so that Poacher doesn't try to negotiate the stairs on her own during the night. For some reason, known only to her, Rosie had decided to jump over the gate and must have taken one hell of a fall the other side :(

Our stairs are very steep and winding too so she had no chance of a landing, especially in the dark.

She had come straight back up the stairs and I let her through the gate whereupon she immediately crawled under the covers with Shane and stayed there  I checked her out as best as I could and as she wasn't showing any signs of damage, other than shock, so I waited until this morning to examine her properly.

She was very, very stiff but seems to have full range of motion in all her limbs and is standing evenly. I have given her meloxicam (luckily I had some in the house for Poachie) and within the hour she perked up and has had a little walk outside to do her business

She's eating, weeing and pooing normally and is barking at her sister as usual so I think she will be fine. Just needs to get over the bruising and shock

Needless to say, the stair gate has been taken down

Aw poor Rosie sending her lots and lots of gentle hugs :huggles: :huggles: :huggles: must have been a shock for both of you Jane :huggles: :huggles:

oh no poor rosie :huggles:

hope shes ok :huggles:

naughty you jane, trying to keep them safe, how could you (w00t) :- "

now then Rosie!!

thats really not the best way to get attention and the best spot under the duvet... daddy says "sneeky :shifty: sneeky" is the way to do it, start at the bottom of the bed, nose under duvet and quietly commando roll till you get to the middle of the matress

no need to go to such extreme lengths when you have tactics

aww sending lots of gentle cuddles for rosie ,hope shes feeling better soon jane :huggles: :huggles:
