I went on a weekend trip to London . I was last there 30 years ago .

I had a lovely time on Saturday , sightseeing , Harrods , London Eye .

Saturday night we went to " The Lion King " it was fantastic ...

Walking back to the hotel we suddenly were in the middle of a running battle ....

there were about 30 youths runnig , shouting and throwing bottles ..

we took refuge in a restaurant then they started throwing chairs at the resaurant windows

some of the windows were smashed all the people had to take refuge up the stairs ....

eventually they went away , approx 15 mins had passed and still the police had not appeared .

When the coast was clear we went back to the hotel , very quickly !

I have never seen anything like it in my life , very scary

My god that did sound very scary....hope no-one was hurt...

probably some stag night out or something... some desperate people out on the streets now...

glad the rest of your weekend went well......sounded lovely...

Thanks , I did enjoy the rest of the trip . It was just really scary at the time :sweating:

I'm so very sorry to hear that your experience was spoiled by some mindless idiots!

I work in London and have to say that it has changed over the years but things like this do not happen on a daily basis. I often worry if I'm leaving work a little later now where as years ago it wasn't an issue...not sure whether its because London has changed or I have!

Hope that the rest of your trip was an enjoyable one...lion King is fantastic isn't it!

Bloody Hell that ended the weekend nicely for you !

OMG Alison!!!!! (w00t)

London has changed immensely in the last 30 years. I was born there and lived there until I was in my twenties but, even then, it was clear that it wasn't going to be a nice place to be for much longer :(

That is such a shame ............ goodness only knows why these morons can't get a life and behave like civilised human beings

I do so hope that the rest of your weekend was fantastic!!

That must have been really frightening Alison :- Hope the rest of your weekend was enjoyable. Going to see the Lion King must have been great

Lucky you getting to see The Lion King
